21 August we used our downtime to visit the @rosietheriveternps museum and learn about the history of ship building in Richmond during WWII as well as how women and minorities contributed to the war effort. The shipyard site is now the marina where @vfpgoldenrulepeaceboat has been docked. Next door was the most scenic pickleball facility I have seen. In the afternoon we took former mayor and council member for a sail then gathered with the @richcityrays and @richmondprogressivealliance to watch @nolananderson film about the Golden Rule and @qtip.mp4 film about the history of environmental injustice in the waters around Richmond 🏗️ Great work, activists! taken in Richmond Marina Bay by @qtip.mp4

Meet the brilliant PRODUCTION team behind BREAKDOWN.

Not once did I have to worry about schedule, transportation, equipment rentals or crafty on set. Our production team handled complicated company moves, tight shooting windows, and a host of curveballs with the utmost calm and efficiency. I felt completely free to focus on directing, which was a rare treat.

Producers @vonosmas and @andrewratermann were amazing. @vonosmas worked tirelessly in pre-production to secure us fantastic locations within our budget, develop a shoot schedule that allowed us to capture everything we needed in just two days, and also provided a ton of great creative guidance while we were finalizing the script and shot listing. On top of that he was an all-star 1st AD, always keeping a calm presence while making sure we kept things moving. @andrewratermann handled all of our equipment rental needs and craft services. His knowledge of Bay Area filmmaking and filmmaking in general proved invaluable throughout the entire process.

UPMs @qtip.mp4 and @bloom.springs.eternal were the unsung heroes of our set. Without them I honestly don’t know how this would have been possible. @qtip.mp4 managed our studio apartment set brilliantly, figuring out how to transport a huge glass table from across the city with no prior warning. Just one of the many wrenches thrown his way, always handling them with a smile. And @bloom.springs.eternal managed our warehouse set with a calming presence amongst the absolute chaos. He also graciously agreed to be our dancing stand-in while our actors were getting ready for the nightclub scene.

And special shoutout to our PA @zachwritesandfilms, who came on the project last minute to give us the extra hands we needed to make things run smoothly. Super grateful for his positive and down-for-anything attitude.

Introducing our camera team Duckfat Productions!!!
Duckfat is made up of the incredibly passionate and talented trio of Brian, Enrique, and Eber. All three had aspirations of acting in blockbuster movies, but every time the camera was pointed their direction the film would burst into flames. Well Hollywood’s loss is our gain and we’re thrilled to have them behind the camera instead!

Luckily cryptids, unlike Duckfat, can be captured on film! Make sure you snag some t-shirts featuring my wonderful Fish Ape face via our crowdfunding campaign! Link in the bio.

P.S. In case you’re wondering, the pictures shown in this post are artist renderings and not actual photos. Attempting to capture their likeness with a camera would have been much too dangerous.
