Today we bring you an outstandingly rare, recently-added piece from our archive.

At first glance it may just look like a normal pair of the famous Gucci floral jeans from F/W 1999. But this is actually a pre-production sample, made on a pair of Japanese-made selvedge Evisu jeans!

Most likely, these jeans started their life as a pair of plain Evisus and were then purchased by somebody from the Gucci design team to use as a base to test the floral embroidery design in real life.

The Evisu red label (9th picture) and the fly rivet were removed, also the leather patch was replaced with a black Gucci one.

A really interesting piece that offers an inside view of how one of Tom Fords’ most iconic creations at Gucci was born.

This time around we bring you an exceptionally rare piece, a Robert Downey Jr made-to-measure Gucci suit jacket from 2011.
Yes, one could say this is an actual “Iron Man Suit”, made by Gucci special “Celebrities” department.
The jacket is made in the highest quality standard Gucci had back in the day, this meant Swiss-made in the top tier Ermenegildo Zegna factory, hand finished, and ultra-luxury fabrics, inside and out.
Robert Downey ended up wearing a different version with satin peak lapels of this jacket to “The Hangover 2” L.A. premiere on May 19 of 2011 by @qualityarchivo
