Plenty on in Jamestown this weekend 🏆🐑

We’re proud to once again support the @jamestown_show and #JamestownRaces over the October Long Weekend.

The barriers at Jamestown are named in honour of our treasured colleague and friend, Simon Seppelt, who was a much-loved member of the Jamestown community and a familiar face around the races. It’s a lovely and lasting tribute to someone who gave so much to the local community and the sport he loved.

We’ll be supporting wool judging, cheering on the runners and catching up with plenty of familiar faces across the Jamestown Show and Races.

A far more successful weekend for The Murray Bridge Show than it was for our beloved Freo at the MCG… 🥲

The Murray Bridge Show delivered plenty of great shearing action, with strong numbers across all categories and shearers and teams travelling from across South Australia to compete in the Sports Shear event.

Congratulations to Max Gogel, who took out his first Open win, Patrick Loller, runner-up in the Intermediate, and Rebecca Williss, who claimed first place in the Novice 🏆

A big thanks to Rhys Erickson for hosting and organising the event, and for looking after the shearers and wool handlers with a well-earned catered lunch.

We also acknowledge the Hein, Williss and Brooker-Jones families for their time, effort and support, along with the shed hands who worked hard throughout the day preparing the wool.

And a special mention to Lincoln Williss, who supplied the sheep for the competition.

Well done to everyone who competed and contributed to a great weekend celebrating shearing and the people behind the industry.

🎯 Top price: $6,600 | Lot 7 | Buyer: Lone Gum Poll Merinos — up from $5,500 last year
🐏 61 of 75 rams sold
📊 Average: $2,272 — up from last year’s $1,985
🏆 Volume buyer: Oaklands Pastoral

Aloeburn’s top price and average both improved on last year, reflecting continued buyer interest in the quality and proven genetic performance of the stud.
