Two nstallations for Melt, Butter’s annual after party. Tinker House, Indianapolis. 1: Medium: LED, clear woodworking dust-collection tubing, ESP32 microcontrollers (WLED), salvaged AV cables, two CRT televisions, archival and original footage. Resolume. 2: Real-time crowd tracking projection. TouchDesigner This year’s theme called for something sci-fi, but I wanted to move away from the Quantum Cavern silver look. Instead I leaned industrial, chaotic, a little W Pantera inspired. The centerpiece is a chandelier built from tubing meant for sawdust, threaded with light and run wirelessly. Broken AV cables I’ve collected over years of gigging give it texture. On either side of the DJ booth, two 90s CRTs run a blend of archival and new footage. On the second floor, a tracking system reads the crowd in real time and feeds it back as light and color. The audience becoming the art. The intention was restraint. Tinker House is already a beautiful room. My job was to accent it. Thank you to DJ Grapevine and the Butter team for inviting me to be part of this incredible night. taken in Tinker House Events by @quantumcavern
