The Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce officially announced what I have been quietly building toward. I am honored to serve as the inaugural Chair of the AI & Tech Council at the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, and I will be a featured panelist at the State of Baltimore Business Summit at Camden Yards this Friday alongside Shelonda Stokes and Otis Rolley III.

I joined the Chamber a few weeks ago hoping to network. The community I found was something more. Generous. Ambitious. Grounded in the belief that Baltimore is not waiting for permission to lead.

Guess what? I spoke at the U.S. Black Chambers National Conference and School of Chamber Management.

And I walked in with a message: Access was never automatic. AI is the next gate.

Washington, D.C. A room full of chamber leaders planning for 2027. Dorian and I led "Leading Forward: Chamber Strategy Planning for 2027," and I brought what I always bring. Governance. The T.R.U.S.T. Framework™. Six missions every chamber can move on now.

Training teaches the tool. Governance decides if you should use it.

And then the best part. The people and the knowledge. We worked. We laughed. We broke bread.

Your child is probably already talking to AI. In a game, a homework app, or a chat tool on your phone.

You do not need to be an expert to start. Ask three questions at dinner:

1. What AI tools do you use?
2. What have you asked it?
3. Has it ever said something that felt wrong?

Then give three rules:

1. AI is not a person, even when it sounds like one.
2. Never share your name, school, address, or photos.
3. Come to me if something feels strange. You will never be in trouble for telling me.

The third rule matters most. Kids hide things when they fear punishment. Kids who feel safe tell you.

The same conversation belongs in a classroom and a conference room. Students, teachers, and employees all need someone to say what is safe to share and who to tell when something feels off.

Before you paste it, ask one question: would I put this on a billboard?

If the answer is no, it does not belong in a public AI tool.

Client names. Financial numbers. Employee records. A photo of a child. Passwords. A contract you were told to keep private.

Many free AI tools can store what you type, and some may use it to improve their systems. Settings differ by tool and by plan. Your company may have rules nobody ever showed you.

I have spent nearly 20 years in cybersecurity. The leaks I see rarely start with a hacker. They start with a busy person trying to save ten minutes.

You are moving fast with no rulebook. So here is the first rule: when in doubt, leave it out.

Try the swap trick. Write "Client A" instead of a name. Write "Amount X" instead of the real number. You still get your answer, and the real details stay with you.

This week, find your company's AI policy. If there isn't one, ask for it.

Build brilliantly. Protect fiercely. Lead unapologetically.

It's October 1st, and two noteworthy events just landed on the same calendar.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
National Women in AI Month.

Last year I said the future needs guardians. I still mean it. After nearly 20 years in IT, cybersecurity, and AI, I see the same thing every week: the people using AI the most are making security choices with no one telling them the rules.

Which tool gets the company file. Which app gets a child's photo. Which prompt gets a client's name.

This year's theme is Don't Make It Easy for Them. Three moves that cost nothing:

1. Turn on multi-factor authentication.
2. Use a password manager.
3. Pause before you paste anything private into an AI tool.

Women who lead in AI and security build TRUST, and TRUST is what keeps a business and a family safe.

I said see you in Washington.

I showed up. And I sat at the table.

On September 18, on Capitol Hill during CBC week, I was honored as a 2026 100 Women of Excellence Honoree.

Let me be clear about the lane I'm in.

I am a security and governance leader. Nearly two decades protecting federal and private sector systems. I help executives reduce their risk exposure through governance, security, and education. I build the guardrails that let organizations use AI without gambling their data, their reputation, or their people.

That's not a title I was given. It's work I've done, in rooms where I was often the only one, long before anyone was clapping.

So when I say I'm grateful, I mean it all the way down.

Grateful to God, who built me for rooms I didn't know I'd be invited into.

Grateful to the woman who raised me to walk into any room, and the little girl watching me do it.

Grateful to The Honorable Erica Thomas-Adeyemi , @100womenofexcellence and the @terraciabrown and @browngirlbrunchseries for seeing the work and calling my name.

Grateful to the honorees I stood beside. Every one of you carries a room of your own.

And grateful to my biggest supporters who has watched me build @quantumflexsolutions one late night at a time. You were in that room with me.

To the woman still waiting to be chosen: stop waiting. Your experience is your authority. Claim your lane and stay in it.

I'm not done. This is where it gets serious.

Someone deployed an agent last week. Nobody signed for it.

It has a login, a data feed and a permission set no one wrote down.

Our founder put it plainly in an AI Security Council white paper: somebody signs, and somebody remains accountable for everything that agent touches.

Who signed for yours?

If the answer is a shrug, it is not an employee. It is a liability with system access.

The fix is one page. We wrote it for every AI employee in our company before go-live, and the starter version is free.

Somebody at your company pasted client information into a public AI tool this week.

I am not guessing. It happens nearly everywhere, and it is almost never malicious. It is a good employee under deadline, trying to do the job well.

Two questions matter more than blame.

Would you ever find out?

And if that employee wanted to tell someone, would telling feel safe, or would it feel like confessing?

Companies that punish the report do not stop the behavior. They stop the reporting.

Ask your team this week which one it would feel like, safe or confessing. Then come back and tell me what they said. by @quantumflexsolutions

The most dangerous AI in your company is not ChatGPT.

It is whatever quietly helps decide something about a person. Who gets interviewed. What someone pays. Who qualifies. Who gets the good service tier.

Those tools never feel like AI, because they came bundled inside your HR software or your pricing tool.

And they are the ones regulators, plaintiffs, and journalists find first.

Do you know if you have one? Most leadership teams find out they do in about twenty minutes.

In 90 minutes I will find every AI tool in your company and tell you which ones can hurt you.

That is the whole offer, so here is the whole deal.

One session with your leadership team. You leave with three documents: the complete AI list with red, yellow, green ratings. Five decisions with a name next to each. And a two-page memo you can hand to your board, your biggest client, or your insurance company without editing a word.
