WASTE NOT, WANT A DRINK

We’re squeezing every last drop outta these pineapples 🍍

Our house tepache starts with the skins and cores left behind from the pineapples we use behind the bar. We hit ’em with cloves and demerara sugar, let the whole thing ferment for a week, then finish it off with toasted black pepper and nutmeg.

Find it in the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, Jungle Bird and Tepache Daiquiri.

ANY PORT IN A STORM

The “Porthole Bodello”- as pretty as it is delicious.

Clearwater Vodka, Taylor Fladgate Chip Dry White Port, Ginger, Cucumber, Mint, Lime, House Pink Pickle

A little background to read while you sip-

Every port has two histories: what arrived by ship, and what happened when the sailors came ashore. Portside Bordello draws on both sides of Porto’s story, from the Douro Valley wine that travelled through its docks to the taverns and bordellos that served a transient city. White Port meets cucumber, mint, ginger and lime, while our ginger-pickled cucumber brine turns the drink a flushed pink: cool, sharp, salty and a little provocative. KAWAFUKU!

Inspired by the legendary Little Tokyo restaurant that helped introduce sushi to Los Angeles.

Our Kawafuku plays on that same meeting of Japan and California, loosely inspired by a mango sushi roll. Japanese rice shōchū, rice, bright fruit, acidity, and subtle savory notes come together in the glass.

The votes are in, and after an incredibly close battle...

And now, for the other winner.

Throughout this battle, we asked people to choose a side.

One person apparently considered that more of a suggestion.

After casting their vote for Penny Crown, @pattynics made it publicly known that their allegiance was still very much negotiable- and that a couple of Dirty Margs might be enough to swing their vote back to Quarters.

That kind of diplomatic flexibility deserves recognition.
