🖤 Who’s coming next? There was a time in this country when we would struggle together across state lines and, baby, it’s back — because what’s happening in your community is definitely happening in mine. Let’s not be in a divided state of mind 🖤

Abridged statement on the lawsuit — see the full statement by searching YouTube for “Northampton government video archive city council December 18 2025.” I’m the second person to speak after the recess, which is where you’ll see the blue title screen pop up as you’re scanning.

And thank you so much for all of your beautiful public comments in solidarity.

The city threatened to sue me for a meme, a political cartoon defending disabled kids.

Why does the city government or the schools’ Director of Student Services (a.k.a. special education director) Matt Holloway retaliate against special education advocates? Supposedly, Director Holloway was concerned about damage to his reputation caused by criticism online about his work. 🧐

A first-grader could give him all the advice he needs: “Stop punching yourself.” The memes will continue until ethics improve.

It’s time all of the adults with a conscience in this city stand up for our most vulnerable community members: kids.

Say NO to overrides, YES to schools, and HELL NO to the downtown redesign. We have enough money to take care of the entire city, including downtown, without sacrificing any child’s future. Be smart.

I happen to care about what’s on the inside; and I really don’t like what I’m seeing in the mayor of Northampton.

I will call out abuses of power all day, every day, until the day I die — which *certainly* won’t be soon enough for those who like to be ugly inside. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That is my nature.

While the mayor is busy scrapping our entire community for parts as though quality of life and democracy are just commodities for neoliberals to trade, marketing all day long to try and trick voters into voting away their rights, we choose a different kind of violence: one that stands up for the marginalized and virtuous, with a conviction that can’t be shamed away. Our honesty is our knife.

You’re probably reading this post from somewhere in the world held hostage by the same petty tyrants we face in my city; so let me give you some advice that I have found helpful: say what you mean and mean what you say so that in your heart you’ll know you weren’t mean today. Just be true to the values you believe should govern a world where children’s lives are worthy of our fiercest, boldest hearts 💛

Happy birthday to this beautiful man, *the* Michael Bardsley. He was one of the first to be character-assassinated by the current regime in my city, and it’s such a shame because things would probably be so idyllic and democratic if he had been elected mayor rather than pushed out by those who preferred to do their dealings in the dark.

Ward 3 is very lucky to have this gentle soul here.

But robbing us of his civic leadership is absolutely one of the ways the mayor’s handlers have harmed all of us in Hamp. Let’s break the cycle. 🕊️

The making of a birthday present for me from me and my family for my children 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s how we roll; it’s life in the carpool lane — no time to explain 🌸

But I’m thinking the Lincoln’s a little small 🤔

Rich in life because my oldest is the sweetest pea imaginable. Today is my actual birthday and I’m not surprised that all I wanted four years ago on this day was a selfie with this cutie.

This year, my partner is building a new arts and crafts and dinner table for the kids, because they keep growing. We chose the lumberyard over a dinner date last night, and I can’t wait to see the new double-wide table later today. It’s all about children; nothing is more fulfilling.

But you know me: this wouldn’t be a 2026 post without OnlyRants; so I’ll leave you by reminding you that we’ve got to oust every public official who doesn’t care about every single child. Defund the mayor! ✌️
