Nothing sucks like getting in front the camera.

I’m joking. But it can feel a little scary and sometimes nerve wracking; and yes, I’m speaking from experience. Yes I wanted new portraits, but I also wanted to experience what you feel when you’re in these shoes so I can become better for you. For me, comfort remains as one of the most important things for great photos.

This session with Abi reminded me of how important it is to choose the right photographer for YOU, and why showing up like this, scared, nervous, with all the feels, in front of the camera is important as a photographer. Thank you Abi for making me comfortable and really capturing me 🤍

There are a few moments during a wedding day when even I have to take a quiet breath behind the camera. This was one of them. Even in the midst of trying to get ‘the shot’.

Maya & Ursan’s walk up the aisle wasn’t just an entrance. It was the hand she’s held her entire life, gently guiding her toward a new chapter. A lifetime of memories wrapped into just a few steps.

This is why I care so deeply about what I do. Because it’s never just a photograph. It’s the weight of a lifetime in one quiet moment, one that can’t be recreated but rather preserved 🤍

Posting is one thing but when a session is this good, there’s a lot of back and forth between which ones to share. I probably say this every time, but this is really one of my fave sessions to date. Every now and again, a couple chooses a studio sessions to switch things up and I can’t lie, it’s always sooo good 🤭

Sihlé and Aaron really just came as themselves and absolutely killed it. A couple prompts and some glimpses at the Pinterest board here and there but it was honestly all them. Their love for each other was the best director we could’ve had (a bar😂🎤). Needless to say, it was a pleasure to capture them. It truly made capturing them on their wedding day super easy.

How your email finds me… okay maybe not this week but definitely last week🤭😅

To be fair, I needed this break. A little transparency, as much as I was living what I was doing, I didn’t feel in touch with it. I felt so distant from my work, dragging myself through it, feeling anxious or not doing well enough.

I needed a break and I did just that. I listened and I took it. My birthday was the perfect opportunity for that. Ending off one year and start the next on a stronger note.

Now I feel recharged and ready to be present for my clients, for myself and pour back into my work, those around me and fill my cup too 🤍

Breaks shouldn’t make us feel guilty. We’re humans, not machines. I’m glad I didn’t wait as long as I usually do to take one.

A quick run to the Savannah before lunch to document this beautiful milestone; and after a week of terrible weather, we couldn’t have asked for better settings 🤍

Maternity sessions have quietly become one of my favorite moments to capture. There’s this mix of excitement and nerves the parents carry into it, and by the end of the session it’s just pure joy and anticipation for who’s about to join their family.

Just a little humor on this lovely Sunday evening 🤭😂

I’ve seen this trend for quite a while now and wanted to share my take on it. Not to get deep but aside from the humor I think this is a really cool trend. It humanizes us. It reminds us that our lives aren’t just capturing moments for others, but also living them too.

And as a photographer, I need these moments to be able to create. It’s difficult pouring into your work from an empty cup, and living life outside the camera is just one of those things that really helps fill my cup back up.
