A SMILE DOESN’T MEAN LIFE IS PERFECT. IT MEANS I STILL HAVE SOMETHING TO THANK GOD FOR. 🤎🙏🏽

If only a picture could tell the entire story behind a smile…

Life has a way of testing your strength, challenging your peace, and reminding you that not everything will go according to plan. But one thing I’ve learned is that you can be going through something and still have a thousand reasons to be grateful.

Sometimes you’re carrying pain that nobody sees, fighting battles you don’t speak about, and navigating situations you never expected. Yet, you still get up, show up, hold your head high, and SMILE!

Not because everything is perfect. Not because life is easy. But because GOD IS STILL GOOD, EVEN WHEN LIFE IS HARD! 🙌🏽

This morning, I’m standing at my son’s school, preparing for his homecoming photos and rehearsal, and I couldn’t help but reflect on how truly blessed I am. Regardless of what’s happening around me, I refuse to let temporary circumstances steal the joy of moments I’ll never get back.

I have too much to be thankful for, too many memories left to make, and too much purpose ahead of me to allow life’s challenges to overshadow God’s blessings.

So here’s your reminder: You don’t have to wait until everything falls into place to celebrate life. You don’t have to have all the answers to find peace. And you certainly don’t have to be free from struggles to recognize how blessed you are.

Keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep smiling. Keep thanking God.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do in the middle of everything you’re facing is stand tall, smile with confidence, and declare:

“Life may be testing me, but it will NOT defeat me. My faith is bigger than my circumstances, my gratitude is greater than my struggles, and my joy is NOT up for negotiation!” 🤎✨

Today, I choose GRATITUDE. I choose FAITH. I choose JOY. And most importantly, I choose to be PRESENT for the blessings right in front of me.

Still standing. Still smiling. Still blessed. ALWAYS GOD-COVERED. 🙏🏽🤎

October has already been such a special month for Janiyah, and as her mom, I’m simply grateful. 🙏🏽💙

We started this month praying that the right opportunities would find her, and here we are just a few days into October with five opportunities/offers from programs that see something in her and are willing to give her a chance to continue playing the game she loves.

Today, we are thankful to add Penn State Schuylkill to that journey. 🏈💙🤍

I’m thankful for every coach who has taken the time to call, evaluate, encourage, and pour into Janiyah. Thank you to her Enterprise High School coaches for developing her every day, and a special thank you to Coach Antwon Chaney and West Express Ladies Flag for continuing to advocate for her and help connect her with opportunities beyond high school.

As her parent, watching doors begin to open is emotional because I know the work behind the pictures—the practices, long days, schoolwork, setbacks, traveling, extra training, and moments when she simply had to keep believing.

Five opportunities in October, and we’re only getting started. We don’t take a single one for granted.

God’s timing. God’s plan. One opportunity at a time. 🙏🏽

Congratulations, Janiyah. Stay humble, stay hungry, keep working, and continue being grateful for every person who helps you along the way.
