Part One: Living With Black Mold

I’ve thought long and hard about if I wanted to share this story for many years. Embarrassment, fear of retaliation, judgement. But I feel convicted to share how landlords take advantage of tenants and refuse to be accountable for situations they can improve.

This is just part 1. I was going at it with them for years because I was simultaneously having financial issues and really couldn’t afford to move.

I felt like I failed my children because I was just not in a financial situation where I could put them in a better situation. I’m no longer ashamed to share my story, I thank God for all the trials and tribulations I’ve been through and for putting us in a better place.

If you’ve ever went up against a large landlord you know they have lawyers, judges, business etc on their side. I thought all I had was me…but GOD showed me what happens when I surrender and allow him to fight my battles🙌🏾🔥

I was David..went up against Goliath and WON

Rearranging shelves and sorting through ghosts. 🤍 Creating space for the new while holding tight to the pieces of my dad I refuse to lose. Grief is strange like that—it lives in the little corners of our everyday spaces.

Sending love to anyone else trying to find balance in the letting go. ✨

Drop a 🧼 if your house looks lived-in 5 minutes after you finish cleaning this top-to-bottom. Seriously, the reset is my favorite kind of therapy, but maintaining it? Whole different story. 😅
