August has been a dream. 3 cities in 3 weeks isn’t for the weak! And if asked to do it all again without batting an eye I’d say yes. We booked a last minute flight to our favorite place to unwind before the school year came and put us back into routine. I soaked up the sun while the kids swam A LOT. 48 hours in LA ✨ A little work, a little play, and a whole lot of good energy. Honey from hitting the pier to shopping the Fashion District to finding the cutest local restaurants and coffee shops, we made the most of every minute. And the perfect ending? Seeing @missjillscott live. 🥹🤎

What a phenomenal show. Soulful, intentional, grown, and full of FEELING. Every note, every word… whew. Jill did what Jill does. And I couldn’t have asked for a better date. @missjena1, love you girl! 🫶🏾

Another Fashion for Compassion is in the books, and whew… what a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community shows up for one another. 🖤🍋

A HUGE thank you to our host @tonimarietalley , @adamdaicy , the planning committee, our incredible models (pictured: teacher Jessie Lewis, principal Stephanie Merriott and school board member Brandi Pruente) along with every vendor, raffle + silent auction donor, and every single person who came out to support.

We didn’t just put on a fashion show. We raised money to help provide back-to-school essentials for local families and support the work @cslcares does every single day. This is what community looks like. This is what showing up looks like. And I’m grateful Black Lemon gets to be a small part of it.

If you’re looking for an organization to pour into, I hope you’ll consider @cslcares. The work they’re doing matters. 🫶🏾

Back from Las Vegas Market! ✈️✨

I had the best time helping my girl Cindy handpick new finds for all of her stores on the Square. It may not have been Atlanta Market, but we still found so many pieces I know you’re going to love.

The food? Incredible. The views? Beautiful. The heat? Vegas… y’all can keep it. 🥵 111° desert weather is a whole different kind of hot, and this Midwest girl is happy to be home.

Now it’s time to start unpacking, and get back to work.

Teaching young Black men how to navigate this world isn’t easy, and none of us get a handbook for it, but you show up every day willing to learn, listen, and do better than the day before.
