This is my ALIVE season. ❤️

Not surviving. Not numbing. Not escaping. I’m learning to feel my life again—clearer, lighter, more present, and more intentional. After everything I’ve carried, I’m giving myself permission to experience the woman who is still here. I am alive. And I’m going to live like I know it. by @queendebra49

This was my therapy. 🛁

During my grief, a bubble bath was my pacifier.

When I couldn't quiet my mind…
when the pain felt too heavy…
I would run a bath, get in, breathe, cry, and just be.

It didn't take my grief away.
It just gave me a moment to feel safe inside of myself.

Sometimes healing isn't about fixing the pain.
Sometimes it's about finding something that helps you sit with it.

This was one of mine.

When you have lost a child, first-hand loss different.

So when you encounter a parent who has lost a child…

Don’t ask:
“Did it happen?”
“What happened?”
“How did it happen?”
“Tell me what happened.”

You may be curious.
You may want to understand.

But remember… we have already lived it.

Every time we tell the story, we have to revisit a moment we would give anything to erase.

Instead, ask yourself:

“How can I support this parent?”
“What can I do to make this moment a little easier?”
“Can I simply sit with them?”

You don't need every detail of our child's death to acknowledge our pain.

Sometimes the greatest support is simply saying:

“I’m here.”
“I remember your child.”
“You don't have to explain anything to me.”

Because when a parent loses a child…

the story doesn't end when we stop talking about it.

We live with it.

Moment by moment.

I am happy.

This is an emotion I never thought I would experience again.

But here I am…

ALIVE.

I’m smiling from the inside.
I’m feeling again.
I’m living again.

The pain didn’t disappear.
I just discovered that I could carry it and still make room for joy.

I AM ALIVE. ❤️

People see me, but they just don’t know.

They see the smile.
They see me laughing.
They see me traveling, working, dressing up, living.

But they don’t know what it took to get here.

They don’t know the nights I cried.
The moments I didn’t know if I could keep going.
The weight I carried while still showing up.

But look at me…

I’M STILL HERE.

I’m not the same woman I was before the pain. I’m learning to live with it, move with it, and still choose LIFE.

This is my new season.

I AM ALIVE.

I am Alive!

I wanted comfort today… but I didn’t want to be comforted.

So I put on my denim jacket, covered in my sun buttons. ☀️

Because sometimes comfort isn’t somebody’s arms, somebody’s words, or somebody trying to make it better.

Sometimes comfort is something that reminds you who you are.

Today, I chose my own comfort.

And that’s okay.

Come sit down. Let’s heal together. ❤️
