Today was perfect. The amount of love and support my dad received was such a blessing. Hearing memories and remarks from his closest friend’s & family was so incredible to witness. He was truly loved and will forever remain a legend.

Thank you for being my dad. Thank you for the love and support over the years. I wish we had more time together & I will always try to find peace with God’s decision but your celebration of life brought me so much joy and comfort. I know you were smiling down on us today & the @clevelandbrowns didn’t disappoint. This win was for you dad 🧡

Life is so unfair and I’ll never be able to understand this one. It felt like she was swept away from me and I felt a very vulnerable feeling that anyone I loved could be taken away at any moment. For days it felt like I was living in a simulation and life wasn’t real. I was in denial when I got the call and thought surely there’d been a mistake. As we raced to New York and time went by, the hours turning from morning to later in the day, I didn’t hear from you and it started to sink in. Even after confirming the worst fear of my life it still didn’t feel real. It wasn’t until after we said goodbye that I started to feel your absence.

My dear Destiny, my dear sweet sister, I am so sorry this happened to you. I cannot fathom what you went through and I hate that I couldn’t be by your side. I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone and sadly the state of grief is becoming way too familiar for me. I wish we had more time, I wish you could live out of your spontaneous dreams and desires, I wish we could do all the things we talked about and planned, I wish we could grow old like the Golden Girls and live together. A husband or child was never guaranteed but I always knew I would have my sister and never be alone. Now that peace has been taken too. I can’t begin to understand God’s plan or why he would choose to take away such a brilliant, beautiful, and rare gem from this world, but I do believe while your life was cut too short, you’ve lived a beautiful, full life that most could only dream for. You were kind, passionate and original. You never stopped being yourself or changed for anyone. You were confident, courageous and always spoke your truth. I wish I could have thanked you for everything you’ve given me. You played a major role in helping to shape me into the woman I am today. You were such a big part of my life, and my best friend.

Destiny, I love you and I miss you so much. I’ll do my best here without you and try to live righteous. They say it gets better with time, but the more time moves the heavier the pain feels.
