thank you to everyone who joined us for a reading & discussion on desire @theworldsboroughbookshop. so grateful to our readers who wow-ed us with their brilliance and insights on desire: @xt_xt_xty making us interrogate what baby voices in relationships are actually obscuring😭, @mia.arias.tsang reading from her book "Fragments of Wasted Devotion" and queer heartbreak💘, @jasminsandelson's brilliant piece in @sewaneereview "submersions" that gripped us, and @gregorspamsa reading from "S_MMER CR_SH" from @sarabandebooks among her other work!

Some takeaways include:
- wanting more books / stories where desire is a force for positive change
- is it better to be desired or to desire?
- what are the structural forces undergirding the desires that we have?

Also thanks to @feeldco for sponsoring our after party @jia_bardownstairs where we continued our conversations.

We raised $130 for Immigrant Defense Network - thank you for contributing ❤️
"The Immigrant Defense Network (IDN) – based in Minnesota is a growing, statewide network of 90+ nonprofits, grassroots groups, and advocates – developing new rapid response and movement building strategies through deep collaboration and coordination." taken in The World's Borough Bookshop by @queensreading
