#FlashbackFriday to Sunday, October 4, when we held a Support Circle and took a gentle pause to reflect on our mental health needs.

We explored what helps us recognise when we’re struggling (small clues that tell us how we are really doing), what helps us move through difficult phases, and how we know when things are slowly getting better.

Everyone shared their stories, found relatability in each other and reflected on their mental health needs. It was a beautiful evening where everyone held space for each other. And a collective reminder that we are not alone in this.

Special thanks to psychologist Tamanna Nafis (@perspective.of.you) for moderating the discussion, and to the wonderful folks at Kinvana Community Centre for hosting us. Through this Support Circle, we commemorated World Mental Health Day that is held on October 11.

We are almost always smiling and laughing when we are together. 😌

Here are some visuals from the last edition of सतरंगी संवाद which was held last Sunday, September 13, at Gandhi Park.

We had some new people join in the discussion. We spoke about the dearth of public parks in Dehradun and the evolution of the city, among other things. 😊

We hope that these casual chit-chat sessions continue to be full of laughter and joy. 🌱

On Independence Day (August 15) last week, we at Queer Collective Dehradun joined hands with Darpan -- Doon Photo Collective, to organise a screening of the film 'Roohrangi,' directed by Tusharr Madhavv, at Budaan, at Dalanwala, Dehradun.

Roohrangi explored the themes of belonging, freedom, desire, kinship, ancestry, camaraderie, etc. with a queer twist. The film was very well received by the audience. The screening was followed by an interactive Q&A session where Tusharr answered each question meticulously.

It was a truly befitting way to celebrate this year's Independence Day. We sincerely thank Budaan for hosting us, the awesome people at Darpan for being the perfect collaborators, and especially Tusharr who not only agreed to let us screen Roohrangi, but also travelled to Dehradun all the way from his hometown Lucknow for the screening.

We are looking forward to more such meaningful collaborations in the future.

#ThrowbackThursday to July 12 when we had an insightful चर्चा with Sharif D Rangnekar, a man who wears many hats as a writer, singer, festival director of Rainbow Literature Festival and founder of Dwijen Dinanath Arts Foundation.

With a career in the spheres of journalism, public relations, workplace inclusion and festival direction, Sharif spoke about a range of things -- from politics and community, to music, literature and publishing.

Since चर्चा is an interactive session, Aruna Desai from Sweekar Rainbow Parents also shared a lot of insights about their work with parents of LGBTQIA+ individuals across India. We also witnessed the audience ask important questions about a range of things. All in all, it was an extremely informative चर्चा। We hope to collaborate with Sharif in the future as well.

The Cockroach Janta Party-led protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, bore fruit yesterday, on July 25, when Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation. The protest, which began on June 6, drew concerned citizens from all walks of life.

The main demand of the protesters was Pradhan's resignation over exam paper leaks. Eminent activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined the protest. The newly formed Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was founded by 30-year-old Abhijeet Dipke in May 2026.

CJP garnered enormous support from youngsters across the country, leading to one of the biggest protests in India during the last few years. When Pradhan's resignation was announced yesterday, the protesters were ecstatic! From chanting slogans to playing card games and dancing on catchy songs, the 'cockroaches' celebrated their victory with immense fervour.

Here's hoping that Pradhan's resignation is the first step in the series of positive changes that the youth of India will bring about for the betterment of the country.
