Growing up, I’ve almost always felt lonely.

As a values-based person who says what she thinks, it’s often been hard to maintain friendships.

I’ve usually been “too much” for people, a mirror into the secrets they don’t want to reflect upon.

How grateful I am to be friends nowadays with folks who are working on themselves, going to therapy, nurturing their hobbies, and staying receptive to truths that aren’t always fun.

I’ve never been someone who chooses friends based on just a good time, but I’m having a ton of fun with heart-centered humans who I respect and admire.

Maybe that’s kind of oddly deep or “complicated” in response to a few stickers…

But that’s how I’m feeling right now.

There may come a day where I’ll look back on this and cry because I’m no longer friends with these individuals.

But I hope I’ll continue to remember I was and am loved.

My manifestation today: I am open to receiving healthy love in all its forms.

Don’t forget to slow down : )

What brought you peace or joy today?

Today, I checked if an indie game website from my childhood was still active and was delighted to find out it was. ^_^ by @queerdisabledasian

I want to take the time to shout out @surawontofu because it’s the first Korean restaurant I know of in LA that labels gluten-free options.

I have Celiac’s, which is an autoimmune disease where gluten destroys my small intestine. Many people confuse it for an allergy, but this is not the case for me.

While Celiac’s is listed under ADA law, I rarely see it accommodated.

Not only can it cause stomach pain, but it can also lead to depression, lactose intolerance, migraines, and even infertility.

If you don’t believe me, that’s good because you should always fact check people. Please take this chance to look it up for yourself as well.

Go out and support this small business so they can continue to be awesome!

If you STILL think LA doesn’t have any free activities to enjoy, I’m making a new series for you. Lock in and consider following me—or don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

Featured hike: Bluff Creek Trail, Playa Vista/Westchester

Google Maps won’t give you an exact address. You’ll end up in a neighborhood and see a small trail hidden between two houses.

Have you hiked this trail before?

This was my first time making a connection while hiking; how about you?

As always, I don’t claim any liability if you choose to go out and/or get injured while hiking, etc.

I don’t know much info about this trail since it’s new to me, but @alltrails tends to have helpful info. taken in Los Angeles, California by @queerdisabledasian

Have you heard of or tried the Natal plum?

It’s a poisonous plant from South Africa, but the kicker is that the RIPE fruit is edible.

It cannot be eaten unripe; do not try it.

You can’t eat the flowers, leaves, roots, stems, or thorns.

Only the fruit when it’s ripe

Want to check out this fruit in person?

Join one of my foraging workshops in LA and learn more about the South African Natal plum. ❤️

🍄‍🟫 Girls just wanna have FUNgi foraging adventures 🍄‍🟫

Throwback to the time I foraged this edible COW (Chicken of the Woods) mushroom in my very own neighborhood!

This is my truest self, the silly side I’m usually too shy to show most of you…

So it’s been sitting on my phone for 2 years…

Hope this makes you smile like it did for me :)

Have you tried COW mushrooms before? If so, what did you think?

Stay tuned for pics of my “chicken” mushroom burgers, if you haven’t seen them already 😉
