1 drink or 1 book minimum - Hive Mind Books serves espresso drinks, teas, and a rotating menu of specials, plus some spritzy non-alcoholic options, and pastries. (They do not serve alcohol.)

Hive Mind Books is a queer and trans bookstore and coffee shop in Bushwick, Brooklyn. They are located off of the Dekalb Ave (L), Myrtle-Wyckoff (L/M), and Knickerbocker (M) subway stations. Their coffee and tea bar will be open for the duration of this event. by @queerfriending

I stepped outside my comfort zone and pulled up to a BIPOC Queer Friending Event and BABYYYY… the vibes were VIBING! 😭❤️‍🔥

New faces. Real conversations. Laughs. Connections. Community. 🫶🏾

BIPOC QUEER SPEED FRIENDING?! 🏳️‍🌈🔥

Listen… I had SUCH a bomb night! 💗 I loved being in a room full of people who love what we love, show up as their unapologetic selves, and just genuinely came to connect, laugh, and HAVE A GOOD TIME. The event was hosted at @boyfriendcoop which was such a cute little bar! 🥹🏳️‍🌈 And of course I had to get a drink 😂 I had this hibiscus drink and BABYYYYY… it was GOOD. 😌 I definitely enjoyed myself.

But honestly, my favorite part was recording everybody smiling, enjoying themselves, and just being FREE. 🥹✨

@queerfriending absolutely KILLED IT with this event. She executed her vision so beautifully, and I’m so happy I got to experience it. I already know I want to keep showing up to these events because THIS is the type of community I want to be around. 🫶🏾

And listen… hopefully SPEED DATING is next because BABY, I’m looking for my WIFE. 😭😂🏳️‍🌈💍 I’m ready to meet my person, but until then, I’m outside making friends, creating memories, and having a good time. Monica, keep creating because I would LOVE to continue being the face behind the content for these events! 📸🎥🔥 Stay tuned… because I’m just getting started.

Folks trekked from the Bronx, Long Island and a boat in Far Rockaway on a very rainy Sunday to come to my first ever BIPOC queer speed friending at @boyfriendcoop !! This event had so much demand it sold out in a few days!! I’ll be doing it again in late October, stay tuned! by @queerfriending

About the host Monica organizer of @queerfriending :
I’ve helped hundreds of queer people meet new friends and build genuine connections by hosting a weekly neighborhood queer walking group and organizing queer speed friending events throughout nyc. With a background as a community building social worker, I create fun, low-pressure spaces where you can feel comfortable meeting new people.

I believe in the power of friendship and know that having even one close friend can be life changing!! On my own queer journey, finding queer friendship and community was so important to me. by @queerfriending
