Queer Liberation March moved through Manhattan on June 28, 2026, carrying a clear message of protest, community, and resistance.

From the front banner calling for trans and immigrant rights to handmade signs demanding democracy, housing, health care, and an end to homophobia, the march kept Pride connected to public action in the streets.

8th Annual Queer Liberation March
6.28.26 | Union Square to Foley Square

A few blocks away from the NYC Pride Parade at East 15th Street by Union Square, is the Queer Liberation March, its the same premise of the March but without the corporate stuff involved.

Starting back in June 2019, numerous LGBTQIA organizations banded together to have a similar March but to also protest against the corporate focus sponsorships. This dates back to 1984 with the Heritage of Pride, when corporate sponsorships took over and 10 years later in 1994 which also marked tbe 25th Anniversary of the Stonewall Inn Riots, it was the tipping point which started the first ever Drag March.

Hundreds marched on the streets in Lower Manhattan from Union Square to Foley Square, which was also the route in the 1970 March, to show solidarity to their rights and that they will protect one another when the higher ups are taking away their freedom by @queermarch

EL AMOR ES LEY—At the Queer Liberation March, a Cuban American and his co-worker condemned the U.S blockade and praised Cuba for its support of Venezuelan people and for Liberation struggles on the African continent.
The Cuban government has achieved a progressive, inclusive and equitable legal framework to protect the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals, the women of Cuba, the elderly, children and youth who constitute a beloved part of their population. Largely because of efforts of the state sponsored National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX) Cuba provides state funded abortions and gender affirming surgeries!
Cuba continues fighting for human rights, upholding the Family Code, and delivering knowledge on topics of sexuality. End the genocidal blockade on the revolutionary island of Cuba! Self-determination is a human right! 🇨🇺🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Queer Liberation March @queermarch (2026)

Ya son 5 años documentando Pride Day
El primer año simplemente estaba haciendo lo que hago, Fotografiar.

En el 2do año decidí.. quiero documentar este día como parte de mi proceso como "hombre" Queer y sentir, sentirme, sentirles.

En el 3er año no pude evitar traer intenciones conmigo (por qué si no me aburro de los patrones) y una Hasselblad 500c que me prestó @anyelo_troya con el plan de crear piezas, ya no quería solo tirar por tirar (no es que no lo hice también) quería atrapar momentos que terminaran en el papel (prints).

Para el 4to año vino a mí la frase "Lo que Anhelamos is a Safe Space" y my producer/Àyànfé me pone en las manos a Luna (nuestra Pentax 67) y literalmente cree 4 de mis imágenes favoritas 🥹.. después de verlas impresas no tuve de otra que admitir que ya se había vuelto un proyecto.

Este año (el 5to) cambiamos el espacio y esta vez fuimos parte de la marcha Queer de @queermarch (en honor a la primera discusión que tuvimos cuando nos conocimos @lamixedqueer y yo) y ahora con un approach documentalista me acerqué a este espacio con la intención de filmar y ser muy específico con relación a las imágenes fijas que quería crear con Luna.

Ahora sentarme a seleccionar, crear, editar, imprimir y traer a este espacio the embodiment of this feelings. taken in New York City by @queermarch

El Pride Day fue sumamente interesante e introspectivo
Me hizo entenderme tanto en este proceso de venir no solo de una isla tan… Heterosexista.
Pero de un "hogar" aún más.

Nací Queer
pero por miedo, la aldea que me formó intentó hasta donde no pudo para extirparlo de mi y por ende
el vivir en acuerdo conmigo es tan confuso.

Por eso agradezco tanto el haber Re conocido a alguien que está en constante transición por este plano y no solo me permite pero me empuja @lamixedqueer taken in New York City by @queermarch
