Posting this on the grid to celebrate reaching a year (and a few days) since my hysterectomy. I shared this on Twitter and got a LOT of nasty comments from people who think their opinions matter, but I am an out and proud transgender man and I will not stop being myself no matter what abuse the TERFs send my way. This was the second-most important surgery I’ve ever had, and while recovery was tough and painful at times, every step was worth it to allow me to feel more at home in my body.

I’m so grateful to the NHS for making this possible, and literally fuck anyone who tries to fight against trans healthcare — to do so is condemning trans people to a life of misery, or sometimes, no life at all.

To my fellow trans folk: I love you. 🩵 To the allies: please continue to educate yourselves and stand up for trans people because we really need it, now more than ever. 🏳️‍⚧️

We had to say goodbye to our beloved Gizmo yesterday after her health rapidly declined and I can’t believe she’s not here anymore. Anyone who met her will tell you how affectionate and cuddly she was; it was impossible not to fall in love with her incessant biscuits and sandpaper kisses. 17 years is a long time to spend with a cat as wonderful as Gizmo — I’m heartbroken and I will miss her forever. We very sadly lost our lovely yiayia Melanie today. This kind and adorable woman spent her life taking care of us all, dealing with our shenanigans as kids, sneakily cooking us fried eggs and salads at midnight, and never failing to make us laugh with her funny ways and sarcastic comments.
