A few highlights of folks interacting with my invisible disability // radical visibility sculpture. Starting this month, September 2023, I will be bringing this sculpture with me to art markets so that more folks can experience it for themselves!

I knew that today I wanted to share the final piece that was the result of the sketches and prototypes that I posted yesterday. And, fittingly, the next #inktober4queerdos prompt is #SoftWords, which perfectly captures the spirit of this #InteractiveSculpture. The base is made of wood that I used a #cncmachine to cut into a typographical map of the pain in my back. Sitting on top of that base are rocks that I collected and #tumbled during my own #HealingJourney and that I rigged up using a #MakeyMakey and some basic #soldering to create a touch-based circuit that plays recordings of my friends describing in their own words what #healing means to them. Due to the severe limitations of Instagram’s auto captioning feature, my videos are unfortunately all split up into short segments and cropped out. But I hope that at least a little bit of the spirit of the piece can still shine through. If you’d like to see better quality images and videos of this piece, which I call #HealingIsntLinear, as well as learn more about how I made it and what it means to me, I invite you to check out the link in my bio to my #CreativeProcessJournal

I feel proud to come from three generations (that I know of!) of makers. My mom’s grandfather—aka my great grandfather Pa—did taxidermy, carpentry, wood carving, and wood inlay. My mom’s father—aka my grandfather Papa—did watch and clock repair and specialized in preserving antiques. My mom is a weaver, painter, and all around creative maker. And I’ve been making and creating since I was a small child! by @queerquartz13

I’m bringing 19 freshly printed (and heat set ofc!) upcycled shirts to my upcoming markets. Which one is your favorite? Snag yours tonight @rightproperbrookland, tomorrow @milkcratedc, or Tuesday @thedewdropinndc.

I’m so grateful to @findingyourgood, @petite_punk, @sierraclubdc, and @happydazeswap (and more!) for hosting clothing swaps all year round! I primarily source the base garments at community events like theirs, always trying my best to be a good steward of the community (bringing quality items to contribute to the swap, only taking what I’ll use, coming toward the end to collect the unwanted items, etc.).

I love upcycling! 💖 taken in Brookland NE DC by @queerquartz13

I’ve been going to Crit Club hosted by @addiethenomad for about a year now. My fellow participants encouraged me to share the stories behind my creations since each upcycled element carries such special meaning for me. So far I’ve only had time to write out stories for these 3 pieces. If you’d like to know the story behind an item I haven’t gotten to yet, please don’t hesitate to ask! It’s going to take me a while to get to everything.

These 3 pieces are collar chains, which are a gender expansive jewelry accessory meant to be worn pinned to either side of a collared shirt. I created these because I love wearing jewelry, but I hate getting misgendered, so I wanted to offer a more androgynous jewelry option.

Shoutout to my mom @pipi_the_sloth and to my brother @kpstrick18 for supporting me. I am so lucky that most of my upcycling stories are about how grateful I am to my family, friends, neighbors, and community members. I am so blessed 💖 taken in Brookland NE DC by @queerquartz13

I am so grateful to @redlightbringer for organizing this mini exhibit as part of the Red Dirt Pride market this past June 2026. They offered market participants the opportunity to exhibit their artwork in addition to their market booth. I rarely bring my “fine art” sculptures to markets, and it was very fun to have the chance to do so. This piece is called “I Didn’t Think I Liked Red” and is made from the detritus that I accumulated over many years. I am hoping to someday find a collector who wants to give it a home! taken in Red Dirt Studio by @queerquartz13

I’m thrilled to share that you’ll have FOUR opportunities to catch me at a market over the next month! I’ve been working hard to have DC Statehood linocut print shirts, sensory sculptures, collar chains, and more ready for y’all to enjoy! Thank you so much to @rightproperbeer, @boy_fruit_threads, @thedewdropinndc, and @dcboulderingproject for providing such wonderful opportunities to local artists 💖 by @queerquartz13

Whoops! I realized I neglected to post these back when I first made them in December 2025. Most of these have already sold, and I am so grateful to those who’ve given them a home. 💖

I’ve been collecting upcycled shirts and fabric scraps and hope to print more soon. My health has been very bad lately, so I haven’t been able to do much of anything apart from work and rest. I’m hoping I’ll have the energy soon for more printing. 🤞 taken in Brookland NE DC by @queerquartz13
