The illustration is of three QTBIPoC disabled folks who are posing while all wear n95 masks. The person in the front is a Black person sitting with a Knee Disarticulation Amputation on their left leg, they are using a blade prosthetic. The two people behind them are kneeling and we can’t see if they have mobility aids or if they have what is referred to as an invisible disability. The figures wear cerulean, warm orange, light purple, and white. The flier has a bright yellow background, with a muted red square on the bottom half behind the three posed figures. The title text in the top left is cerulean blue, and in the top right is the light purple circular LA Spoonie Collective logo with their name in a circle around “LA” made of spoons in the center. Two spiky bubbles emphasize “masks required and provided if needed” and “Limited vendor spots open for QTBIPoC. DM us if you’re interested” The text on the flyer is shared and expanded on in the caption. by @queerscoutslb
*GOAL MET! $393 raised* We sadly need to reschedule because Jasper is sick. We will need to reschedule for June 27 from 1-3pm. Those who already donated will have access to the rescheduled session in person and virtually. Please DM if you have questions. Jasper was already in need of mutual aid and now it has become urgent. Due to these circumstances, Jasper will receive 100% of the funds we’ve raised so far and we encourage folks that are financially stable to donate to them. They need $80 to cover the rest of their rent and an additional $313 for bills. Total is $393. So far, through paid RSVPs, we’ve raised $85. Jasper needs $308 more to meet their needs. To donate, send funds to @fatvegan on Venmo and add note “Jasper ✨” DM if you want to donate through a different app. by @queerscoutslb
Our pop-up gallery, Reimagining Connection, at @movelbforward is coming to a close on June 6, and we warmly invite you to join us for our closing ceremony from 12pm to 3pm. Just like our opening night, we’ll have artist tables, community org tables, delicious food, and music. If you’re part of a community organization in Long Beach, we would love to hear from you and invite you to participate by reserving a table at this gathering. Grassroots groups are especially encouraged and centered. Additionally, in collaboration with @longbeachswaps, we’re also hosting a gender-affirming clothing swap. We’re collecting clothes to help ensure you feel confident and authentic in your own skin. Please send @queerscoutslb a DM if you’d like to donate. We’ll be accepting clothing donations in the coming weeks, and please keep in mind that there is a limit to the number of items we can take on the day of the event. Please note that we are not accepting used undergarments, with the exception of like-new, lightly used binders and bras. If you have a lot of clothing you’d like to donate, reaching out in advance will help us accommodate everyone. As a part of caring for our community, masks are required and will be provided if needed. We require high-filtration masks such as kf94, kn95, or n95. Air purifiers will be provided courtesy of @movelbfoward by @queerscoutslb
