On Sunday I went as an ally to the NYC Pride March and Pridefest. What a fantastic experience! The city was literally filled with positive energy, acceptance and love. For me one of the highlights of the day was a beautiful ballet performance by @queertheballet Their dancing was exquisitely graceful and truly celebrated the beauty and power of queer women. taken in New York City by @queertheballet

"I can’t overstate how powerful it is to just be queer in the ballet studio, to feel fully seen, instead of fitting into this mold of a femme-presenting ballet dancer. I never felt seen that way as a professional dancer, ever."

New York City-based dancer and choreographer Adriana Pierce (@adriprc) founded Queer the Ballet (@queertheballet) to make mainstream visibility for all LGBTQ+ artists a priority in the ballet sphere. Read more on stanceondance.com.

New York City-based dancer and choreographer Adriana Pierce (@adriprc) describes how the isolation she experienced in her queer identity in ballet settings led her to found Queer the Ballet (@queertheballet). Read more on Stance on Dance (link in bio).

Celebrating the women who move us 🤍 This #womenshistorymonth, we're shining a light on the incredible women of DAC - powerful, passionate and dedicated to uplifting the cancer community in NYC and beyond. 🕊 Thank you to these amazing women for your commitment to our cause:

Devon Teuscher and Miriam Miller in Daphne Willis' "I Am Enough" in a piece adapted from Victoria Duncan's film of the same name and restaged by Adriana Pierce, Queer the Ballet.
