A message from Queertopia co-creator @scottrankie

The outpouring of love and support from old friends, new friends, & people I’ve never met before has been mind blowing. I want to express my profound gratitude to everyone.

Collaborating with Mickey on this was such a joy and I’ll cherish that forever. We envisioned Queertopia to exist on different levels. It would serve as a meeting place for the queer community. Which we believed was of critical importance given the current political climate. It would also be a place for queer artists to preform and develop. We wanted it to be accessible and included a multitude of artistic disciplines. Overall, we just wanted to curate a fun weird night. I’m not sure what Queertopia looks like moving forward, but I know I know I have to keep it going. I need some time to regroup, but this isn’t the end of Queertopia. Thank you and stay tuned.

Hi friends. This is Queertopia co-creator @scottrankie I’m still trying to wrap my head around this tragedy. This devastating loss will be with us for a long time, but so will their light and legacy.

So with that, we’ve decided to adjust our scheduled programming and shift Queertopia into a night of remembrance and celebration of Mickey & Jordan.
