To close out NICU awareness month, I want to share this moment. This photo was taken just moments before we left the hospital and brought our sweet baby girl home from the NICU after 38 LONG days 😭…. 38 days of holding my breath. Some days I thought I might suffocate. 38 days of loving you and having to leave you with your nurses. 38 days of my momma heart feeling incomplete. But, THIS moment meant everything to me! Today has been absolutely PERFECT!
We started the day at the literal crack of dawn serving our community and supporting @take3_1911 in his first 5K Turkey Trot 🦃
I went home and made an absolute ruckus in the kitchen 😋🤤 then took a much needed nap 😴
Now we’re finishing the night with laughs and quality time… God, I thank you 🙌🏾

Levi, you’re quite literally one of my favorite people in the world, not just because I’m your mom, but, because you are 1000% yourself at all times 💙 You wear your BIG heart on your sleeves and you never shy away from your emotions. I NEVER have to guess with you!

I could write an entire novel on the past 11 years married to this man… But, I’ll keep it short and sweet… Ju, you’re MY person 🫶🏾

It took nearly losing you and THIS to realize it! We’ve suffered some of the lowest lows (many created by our own hands) and experienced some of life’s greatest joys together. Through it all, I’m grateful for what God preserved and for what we’re still choosing everyday to upkeep and build upon.

To say I’m grateful would be a gross understatement! This past year and a half has challenged me mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. But, I survived this season and came out VICTORIOUS 🙌🏾

God, I thank YOU‼️ I deferred finishing my degree for many years because it just wasn’t the “right time”… Tuh‼️ I’m here to tell you that there will NEVER be a right time when it’s time for you to elevate. In fact, this is when you’ll face the most adversity. You’ve got to do it scared, go blind, and show up even when it hurts 💯

I’m so thankful for my family and friends that encouraged and supported me. I love y’all 💛
