My heart is full of love and gratitude.

TODAY, I will be graduating from THEE Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a minor in Chemistry. This chapter of my life has been so eye-opening and enriching, and because of it, I have truly been changed for the better.

Believe it or not, three years ago I received both an acceptance and a denial letter from this illustrious university I can now proudly call myself an alumna of! When I graduated from high school, I was unsure of what I truly wanted for myself, but by August 2022, I knew what I had always wanted to pursue: veterinary medicine.

The road to becoming Dr. Brown is still ongoing, but along the way, I developed an unexpected love for my field of study—Agriculture. So many aspects of my major reignited my love for learning, but I’ll save you the lengthy details.

On top of that, the community I’ve built here is one I will never take for granted. My Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club members helped me stay on track with my mission. My Haus of Vision family made sure I never felt alone and gave me the confidence to be creative and express myself. My NextGEN team offered new perspectives on the importance of giving back to my community. Being inducted into KONU made me feel recognized for my academic achievements and leadership potential.

Getting involved truly kept me going and provided the comfort of being a part of something bigger than myself. There’s so much more I want to say about my undergraduate journey and how beautiful it was and how grateful I am. For now, I am leaving PV with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes—the connections I’ve made and the experiences I’ve had here are all unforgettably special.
