Helping you understand why your home does not look like your Pinterest saves.
šŸ”šŸ’• Learning how to finally get the home of your dreams starts here šŸ‘‡šŸ»
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
My Pinterest boards have always been easier to decorate than my actual home.

Even before Pinterest, I kept magazine pages of rooms I loved. Warm, calm, thoughtfully put together. I could recognise that feeling instantly, but recreating it at home was another matter.

This year, I started understanding why those rooms worked. The lighting. The balance. The space around the things on display.

One of my biggest little revelations? Clearing our four living room windowsills and choosing just three pieces for each. I could finally appreciate the things I’d loved enough to bring home.

Those discoveries are what inspired Quiet Home Studio. A place to share what I’m learning, with real examples from the home I’m still figuring out myself.

Now I can sit in my living room and think: I really love it here.

Do you find it easier to know what you love than to make it work in your own home? by @quiet_home_studio

Sometimes a room has all the right pieces, but something still feels a little off.

Before I add more decor, I look at scale: how the size of each piece works with the furniture and space around it.

Is the artwork getting lost above the bed?
Does the mirror feel small above the console?
Is the rug connecting the seating—or sitting on its own beneath the coffee table?

These examples show what a difference size can make. But bigger isn’t always better. The aim is to choose pieces that feel balanced together.

Before you buy anything, try marking out a different size with painter’s tape. It’s a simple way to see what might work in your space.

Can a perfectly ordinary living room feel like quiet luxury? šŸ¤

The room stayed the same. The decisions changed.

A more cohesive color palette. A larger rug that connects the furniture. Lighting at different heights. Linen, wool, wood, and ceramics. Full-length curtains and fewer small things competing for attention.

And the TV? A DIY frame and an art background help it become part of the room’s style.

We replaced furniture in this example, but you don’t need to make every change to see a difference in your own home.

Start with one thing: the rug that’s too small, the lighting that only comes from the ceiling, or the surfaces that feel crowded. Use what you own, consider secondhand pieces, and build from there.

Dreaming of a quiet luxury look and feel in your own home?

I knew what I loved. I just couldn’t figure out why it never quite came together in my own home.

So I kept trying. Another pillow. A different rug. That vase I’d seen everywhere.

Each purchase felt like it might be the missing piece. Yet my living room still felt… almost.

What finally helped was learning to look at the whole room: how the rug connected the furniture, where the light came from, how the curtains were hung, and whether the colours and materials worked together.

That gave me something much more useful than another shopping list: a clearer idea of what actually needed changing.

If you’ve spent years saving beautiful rooms while feeling disappointed with your own, I know that feeling. šŸ¤

Feeling overwhelmed by all the interior inspiration flooding your feed?

Here’s what I would do.

First, give yourself permission to simply enjoy it. You don’t need to remember every tip or save every beautiful room.

Sometimes a post can just be a lovely little daydream. Then you scroll on.

Next, look around YOUR home. What’s actually missing?

Does your living room need softer lighting? Does your bedroom feel unfinished?

Pick one thing you want to solve. Then save the content that helps you with THAT.

And give your feed some feedback. Use ā€œNot interestedā€ on suggested posts you want less of, and engage with what you enjoy.

Your feed isn’t a to-do list.
Let it inspire you without giving you more homework.

Enjoy your weekend šŸ¤

Your kitchen might already have more potential than you think.

Before you buy more decor, try these three changes:

1. Clear what you don’t use every day. Keep the things that support your routine; put away what’s just taking up space.
2. Add light where the room feels flat. A small lamp or under-cabinet lighting can make the kitchen feel warmer and more inviting.
3. Bring in wood and soft texture. Wooden cutting boards, a Roman blind or a washable rug can soften a room full of hard surfaces.

You don’t have to copy this kitchen. The useful part is understanding what YOUR space is missing.

You love your sofa, your coffee table, your armchair… so why does the room still feel a little disconnected?

Check the rug. If it sits under only the coffee table, the furniture can feel like separate pieces instead of one seating area.

A good starting point:
• Place the front legs of your sofa and armchairs on the rug.
• Choose a size that connects the seating you actually use.
• Before buying, mark out the dimensions on your floor so you can see how they work with your furniture.

Same furniture. One better decision. A room that feels more pulled together. ✨

Ever walk into a thrift store, see a hundred things… and leave with nothing?

It helps to know what you’re looking for—and to look past how things are displayed.

These are the details that catch my eye:
✨ Solid wood with beautiful grain.
✨ Ceramics with interesting shapes and glazes.
✨ Lamps with character.
✨ Classic candlesticks in quality materials.

A little patina can be lovely. Peeling finishes, cracks and wobbly joints deserve a closer look.

And before bringing anything home, ask: ā€œWhere would I use this?ā€ A bargain only earns its place if it works in your home.

Everyone is talking about decluttering. This is what it actually looks like. šŸ¤

Same entryway, same furniture, same light. Nothing new was bought. I just gave every piece room to breathe, and the whole space feels calmer and more expensive.

Not sure where to start? Comment ā€œDECLUTTERā€ and I’ll send you the link to my step-by-step guide.

Swipe through and notice what draws you in. Is it the colour palette? The furniture shapes? The warmth of the wood?

You don’t have to fit neatly into one style. But recognising the details you keep choosing can help you make your next decorating decision with a little more confidence.
