I moved to Cape Cod in 1998 and enjoyed 25 years of exploring it's beaches and hiking trails. I'm now back in CT re-exploring Nature's best here.

A helicopter hovered over and around the railroad drawbridge by the Niantic Boardwalk for over an hour yesterday. It wasn't military or police, but it was loud enough to spoil an anticipated peaceful walk. A peaceful 4 mile walk in Gay City State Park this past Wednesday. Some signs from the swamp maples that autumn is just around the corner. And the lily pads are blooming. The Willimantic Whitewater Partnership has developed a wonderful space along the Willimantic River in the town of Willimantic. The view of the old dam and falls is spectacular. And also a different view of the historic town hall. My wife worked in the First Selectman's office there years ago. I've also kayaked the river from the Massachusetts border south to Willimantic in years past, about a 25 mile trip. #willimanticct #willimanticriver #whitewater by @quietcapecod
