Finally getting around to posting photos of my projects from a visit up north to Port Townsend🌲 First up, the Taylor St. remodel! A beautiful 1888 Victorian home, completely restored and ready for another 100 years ✨✨✨
The island was made from a fallen coast live oak tree that the clients salvaged from their backyard. All the little bug holes add to its beauty 🥲. And cabinet-making wizardry by Charlie Rawlins 🪄
More photos to come 💓

PNW folks! I’ll be heading your way next week for an extended visit through sept and would love to take on a couple more projects. Let me know if you have a charming, old house in need of a remodel or a wall asking to be painted with joyful flowers!
I do full drawing sets and finish/fixture specs that you can hand off to your contractor—I’ve also been told that I’m a delight to work with 👼🏼, let’s keep adding charm and whimsy to this world while preserving the character of older homes 🌼

Goleta remodel project for the sweetest family!
While making decisions on this project, the guiding question was always “does it bring you joy”? And I think it’s safe to say the whole house now radiates warmth, joy and love.
See the last photos for some before shots 😳 This was a remodel project on a budget, yet a complete transformation. There were some surprises along the way, such as a completely rotted out beam supported by ?! & water/mold issues in the bathrooms. On the upside, there were solid oak stair treads beneath the old blue carpet!

We usually keep it cute, but we really enjoyed the challenge of coming up with a concept design to turn this neglected house into a PNW modern vision.
The client wanted something contemporary that still fit into the woodsy Pacific Northwest backdrop, new shed roof lines and big ol windows to let in natural light and capture the views🌲🌲
The goal was to keep the original footprint and structure while redoing the roof and enlarging some windows, trying to be as practical as possible while achieving a total transformation. They also wanted to add a second level primary suite with a view of the trees from their bed, a connecting mudroom and a 3-car garage. Fir and cedar trees from the site were milled up for the decorative rafter tails, cedar siding and to rebuild the back deck.
Can’t wait to see the transformation 🐣
