This Sunday, September 27th, Bethany is cooking at Cafe Groenhoven and we’d love for folks to join! It's a nonprofit, so they offer reasonably priced meals twice a week. This meal will be three courses for 14 EU!

The main course will be coq au vin stew, with a trio of crostini for an appetizer (fresh ricotta with lemon curd, sherried mushrooms, goat cheese with fig jam) and a Dubai (Chocolate Pistachio) Poke Cake for dessert.

Tomorrow is the last (programmed) day of our June @gtfotours group tour, and WOOF has this group been troopers. Pro-tip: tours during historic heat waves are more of an endurance test. But our folks have been great, our tour guides and experts have been great…it really has been great!
lol and also, shoutout to @keen.yo.nez for her brilliant tour guiding skills in the extreme heat: “First we’re going to walk in the shade to this very shaded park. Then we’re going to walk to gelato!! Then we’ll walk to the air-conditioned cheese shop!” Honestly everyone we met with was really fantastic! by @quinntersectional

Dutch life achievement unlocked!!! Tonight I helped my Dutch husband lay some of our new floor! (In the Netherlands, a lot of places come without floors. It’s frankly baffling! Though also, not mad that they got rid of that hideous carpet…) by @quinntersectional

W00T!!!! We got our new place!!!! And tore down/are moving a wall!!!! Big thanks to @thedutchlifenl, @expatmortgages.nl, @abnamronl, and Sean & Royal Pignatello (New Amsterdam Timmerman) (@swallowtailhuis!) for all of their help in getting/making our dream apartment!!! by @quinntersectional

Day 4: Den Haag. This @gtfotours #tour, we added a fantastic new element for our nerdy, anti-Trump group: an in depth discussion on #Dutch #politics and society, contrasting it with American politics with an expert, @thanos_tho. It was great! We tried to go to the Tweede Kamer, but there was a protest blocking it - but it was an object lesson in what freedom of assembly and protesting in the Netherlands looks like! We also had a great walking tour with @keen.yo.nez (what can I say, @thejanasanchez loves a walking tour!), and got to check out a new (for me) Foodhall by Den Haag Centraal, MingleMush! (Oh also photo credit - Jana took the first five or so photos in this post - the good ones lol.) by @quinntersectional

Day 3: Amsterdam! We started and finished the day with @kb_comic, a walking tour in the morning (through @thoseamsterdames) and Monday Night Laughs in the evening! (@comebackcomedyclub)! Kendra always has a great lineup of comics, and Monday night’s was no exception! @raycomedy, @elelrael, and @tomcottercomic were hilarious! We also had a delicious lunch at @cafenieuwamsterdam and a boat tour with @thosedamboatguys, and most importantly, met up with some of the @gtfotours community for happy hour! (Including @almasmextex - clients of ours and some of the best #MexicanFood in the Netherlands - which is an essential hookup as finding good Mexican food is the fundamental quest of Americans here!)

Day 2: Utrecht. @gtfotours had a fantastic day in Utrecht today! We started with a walking tour with @jeffreyscottpearson, then I got to try the Ruby Tower at @rubyroseutrecht and it was soooooo good! And then we went to @madcowcomedynl’s show at @kartoffelrestaurant and it was hilarious! Next up: Amsterdam! #utrecht #moveabroad #expat #comedy #foodie by @quinntersectional

Our May GTFO Group tour is off to a great start! We started off with an Indonesian rijstafel with the group, and then went to @thejanasanchez’s favorite #genever bar to meet up with some folks from the @gtfotours community. It was very gezellig and we’re just getting started!
