Great meeting with @ricardomackenzi , The Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport of the Western Cape.
We had a great chat!
I want to advocate for bringing sports back into our schools. Throughout my life, I’ve spoken openly about how important sport was for me and how it shaped both the person I am today and my professional football career. Without sport and without the love for football that was nurtured by my school environment and my coaches, I could easily have taken a different path. Growing up in a community where gang culture was a constant presence, sport genuinely saved me. Sport teaches young people essential life skills and values. It gives them discipline, confidence, teamwork and resilience. It also plays a crucial role in supporting the physical and mental health of our young people. Most importantly, it provides a safe and positive outlet for expression. Taking that away from our youth isn’t right. Sports offer countless benefits to our young people and we should make it a priority to bring them back into our schools! by @quintonfortune

I have so much to be grateful for, because of Mr Terry Venables. I was 14 when I arrived at Tottenham from South Africa in 1991. I will always remember how kind he was. I will never forget. I was training with the youth team at Mill Hill training ground one morning and as I was training. Someone said to me that Mr Venables wants to see me. I stopped training with the youth team and ran over to where the 1st team was training. I went over to Mr Venables and he told me that I was going to train with the 1st team today. I was 14. I was happy, excited and at the same time nervous, but Mr Venables gave me so much confidence. He said to me. Keep doing what you’ve been and doing and enjoy it. I enjoyed every minute of it. Mr Venables signed me and I spend 4 of the best years at my life at Spurs. I will forever be grateful to Terry Venables and what he did for me, but more important how he made me feel. He always use to say that “Practice makes permanent” He was one of greatest managers ever. Thank you Mr Terry Venables 🙏🏾❤️ Mizpah by @quintonfortune

The very core of Manchester United is humility and Sir Bobby was the epitome of humility. I remember Sir Bobby use to come into the changing room after games and speak to us. I will forever remember those moments. Thank you Sir Bobby Charlton 🙏🏾❤️ by @quintonfortune
