And it’s here!! 💥💥 Our beautiful cover and story for @architectureplusdesign.in. 🤍🤍 Thank you @seemasree1912 for capturing the essence of our partnership and us through your words, so wonderfully and with such nuance! 🤍🤍 “One of the most striking aspects of their dynamic is the quiet confidence they exude, both individually and in their partnership. It’s a confidence that’s not loud or boastful, but rather a deep-seated self-assurance that comes from knowing their strengths, trusting each other, and being secure in their collaborative vision.” Thank you Team @architectureplusdesign.in @sonaldas1 @seemasree1912 @jagdishjl @eztablish @sakinarangwala72, for making this happen! 🤍🤍 And finally @meeteshtaneja for working your magic once again with us! 💫💫 by @quirkstudio

/Project After-Hours/ Living Room 🖤 Quirk Studio at Home. The living room is probably the most honest expression of how I wanted our home to feel. Warm, lived-in and quietly layered. We wanted the living room to have a sense of ease; a place that could hold a lazy Sunday, an evening with friends, or simply the two of us at the end of a long day. The palette is restrained but the textures, pieces, art and the beautiful imperfection of the marble give it character. It was never about creating a perfect space. It was about creating one that would become more ours with time. Photography: @ishifishy

THE PRACTICE | Shivani Ajmera + Disha Bhavsar, Quirk Studio Thirteen years, countless projects, plenty of disagreements — and, according to Disha, one rager and one quiet sulker. This edition of The Practice lands as @quirkstudio turns 13. @shivani_ajmera and @dishabhavsar started @quirkstudio after a late-night conversation in a Delhi hotel lobby — essentially asking each other why they weren’t doing what they actually wanted to do. There was, in their words, “no plan.” Thirteen years later, there is definitely a plan. We get into how Quirk actually works: the client questionnaires, a fiercely collaborative studio where “the best idea wins”, their much-loved black file that tracks every project detail, and Monday mornings when meetings are banned and the team goes into what they call “combat mode.” And then there’s the design itself. No over-designing. No creating a statement simply for the sake of one. Instead, they think about how a home will actually be used — the first cup of coffee, opening the bar when friends come over, coming home after a long day. As they put it: “We start with how it’s supposed to feel and not how it’s supposed to look.” Happy 13th to Quirk Studio — and to the partnership behind it. This is The Practice. /Project After-Hours/ Dining, overlooking the Den 🖤 Quirk Studio at Home. There’s something about a dining space that makes a home feel like a home. Here, the dining room looks into the den, so the spaces feel connected rather than defined by walls. The palette stays deliberately quiet: linen softening the light, warm wood grounding the room, stone adding depth, and aged brass catching the light in just the right way. Nothing too polished. Nothing trying too hard. Just materials with character, chosen to grow richer with time and a space that feels better the longer you live in it. This home wasn’t designed to impress. It was designed to exhale. Photography: @ishifishy

/Project After-Hours/ Entrance Foyer & Passage 🖤 Quirk Studio at Home “Creating this home became so much more than a design project. It became a conversation with every version of myself. And in many ways, it felt like coming full circle. I came to realize that there is a different kind of vulnerability in designing for yourself. Every decision carries memory, every material reflects instinct rather than approval. There are no trends to follow, no client brief. Only an honest pursuit of what feels true.” ~ Shivani Photography by: @ishifishy Design Team: @__skayb__ @id_upasana_mistri_ In photos: Wall texture: @kemtexpaints Flooring: @rawsteen.in @fcml_india Console & Armchairs : @cottonsandsatins Lamps: @mahendra_doshi_est_1974 Wall lights: @jade_designq Chandelier: @gulmoharlane Art: @sunilpadwal @tungyuenangart Plants: @plantpeople.in ©️ All Design & Image Copyright Quirk Studio 2026 [ProjectAfter-Hours, QuirkStudio, LuxuryInteriors, SouthMumbaiHomes , SpatialDesign, ModernIndianHomes, InteriorInspiration , DesignDetails, MinimalLuxury, MumbaiInteriors , LuxuryLifestyle, ElevatedLiving] by @quirkstudio

/Project After-Hours/ Finally Home 🖤 Project After-Hours began in the hours after the workday ended, but over time, the name came to represent something more personal. After years of designing for others, I was finally designing without a brief, without expectation, and without the need to translate someone else’s story. The quiet time I spent on this home became an opportunity to turn inward. To draw from memory, instinct, and everything I had learnt through years of practice. It became a conversation with every version of myself, while also creating something deeply personal for my husband and me. In many ways, it felt like coming full circle. /Project After-Hours/ Soon ⏳ Quirk Studio at Home “Of all the homes I’ve designed, this one asked the most of me. It demanded honesty, patience, and the courage to trust my instincts. Because this time, it wasn’t just a home I was designing, but my own. And perhaps that’s why it feels less like something I designed, and more like the home that had been waiting for me all along.” ~ Shivani Video & Concept by: @iamsohaibilyas Design Team: @__skayb__ @id_upasana_mistri_ ©️ All Design & Image Copyright Quirk Studio 2026 [ProjectAfter-Hours, QuirkStudio, LuxuryInteriors, SouthMumbaiHomes , SpatialDesign, ModernIndianHomes, InteriorInspiration , DesignDetails, MinimalLuxury, MumbaiInteriors , LuxuryLifestyle, ElevatedLiving] by @quirkstudio

Perched against the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea in Mumbai, Ocean Haus unfolds as a finely calibrated response to its most defining asset — an uninterrupted, end-to-end ocean view that becomes both protagonist and muse. Conceived as a duplex, the home is envisioned as a quiet yet confident backdrop that neither competes with nor diminishes the panorama beyond, instead echoes its serenity through a language of light, materiality, and form. The design eschews a rigid stylistic label, allowing the client’s brief to organically shape its aesthetic direction. A preference for luminous, white-on-white interiors establishes a soft, diffused canvas; one that captures and amplifies the shifting tones of the sea and sky. Subtle gradations of ivory, off-white, and pale neutrals are layered with restraint, creating a spatial experience that feels at once expansive and intimate. The result is a home that embodies a quiet luxury that is warm, tactile, and deeply personal, while maintaining a visual lightness that mirrors the horizon beyond. Kitchen ~ NOIRE HOUSE The kitchen at Noire House is designed as a quiet extension of the home, where warm wood, natural stone, and clean lines create a space that feels both functional and understated. Opening onto the outdoor terrace, it invites natural light and fresh air, blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors.
