Have you seen American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez yet? 👀

This beautifully made documentary about a Chicano legend won TWO awards at Sundance! 🏆

And if you listen closely during the segment on rasquachismo, you might hear a familiar QUITAPENAS song. 👂🏽🎶

Big shoutout to @_earenas, who composed music for the film 🦎

Mucho Gusto Fest has deep roots in the San Bernardino arts community. The festival is led in part by members of San Bernardino-based bands QUITAPENAS (@quitapenasmusic) and MILPA (@milpamusica), alongside artists including local piñata maker José Agua Ledesma (@aguatl). These artists have performed, produced events, and shared their work at the Garcia Center over the years, making the Center’s support of this year’s festival especially meaningful.

Taking place September 19 in Riverside, Mucho Gusto is an independent music and arts festival built in collaboration with Division 9 Gallery and KUCR 88.3 FM, with support from the Garcia Center for the Arts, Blue Zones Project Riverside, and other community partners. The festival brings together artists from across the Inland Empire and beyond for a day of live music, visual art, food, and family activities.

Mucho Gusto celebrates the creative connections that already exist between San Bernardino, Riverside, and the greater Inland Empire, while creating space for those relationships to continue growing.
