Slips and relapses are part of the quit journey. If (or when) they happen to you, try to go easy on yourself. One cigarette or a few puffs of a vape doesn't erase the progress you have already made. Shake it off, remember why you started, and pick right back up whenever you are ready. We are cheering you on. 💛 by @quitnowbc

Cravings can feel overwhelming in the moment, but they don't last forever."Urge surfing" is a technique that can help you get through cravings without acting on them. Instead of trying to push the urge away, notice it with curiosity. What does it feel like? Where do you feel it? Is it growing, shrinking, or changing?Like a wave, cravings rise, peak, and eventually pass. The next time a craving hits, see if you can ride it out for a few minutes. You may be surprised by what happens.Find more tools and support for managing cravings and quitting nicotine at the link in our bio. by @quitnowbc

Traditional tobacco and commercial tobacco are not the same.On Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize that in many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultures, traditional tobacco is used in ceremony, prayer, offerings, and cultural practices. Commercial tobacco refers to manufactured nicotine products like cigarettes and cigars, which are mass-produced by the nicotine industry and do not reflect the sacredness of traditional tobacco.Understanding the difference matters when talking about health and quitting support. If you use commercial tobacco, support is available when you’re ready at the link in our bio. by @quitnowbc

"Trying to quit when everyone at work smokes?Smoke breaks are built into the culture on a lot of job sites. They're how you decompress, connect with coworkers, and get through a tough day. Quitting doesn't mean giving that up — it means finding a different way to take the break.A few things that help: keeping gum or mints on hand for cravings, having a go-to move for stress (a quick walk, a breathing exercise), and telling at least one person at work what you're trying to do.Quitting is tough. So is the work you do every day. You've got the skills — we've got the tools to back you up.Learn more about quitting in the trades at the link in our bio." by @quitnowbc
