“For My Younger Self” is a conversation with the many versions of myself that have faded away & the one I’m learning right now. Moments like this are filled with so much gratitude & grief all at once. It was scary to share this part of my journey, though not unique in experience, it is uniquely mine. Today I’m happy to be vulnerable but keep in mind I am a human & im sensitive about my shit.My piece will be on view til June 17th at Band of Vices in LA 🌻 by @qurissy

I love creating videos of my work — it brings a new life to my images, it allows me to see it in new ways, & I get to incorporate my love for music with my love for photography. With all of that in mind, I still value letting an image breathe. Letting your eye take its time where you want it to without having to pause or rewatch. I’m so proud of the ways I’ve grown in facilitation over the years! From one-off workshops to 8 week courses. Photographer Fit Checks have been a cool part of that evolution because here I am facilitating in some of my fave heels!!Growth everywhere! all ways, always. A great deal of Black American & Puerto Rican history has supported each other here in the states. It’s the foundation of my life & my work & i get to share more of that with you tomorrow! Friday, May 22nd I’ll be on a panel speaking about STATESIDE, being an image maker, & having Caribbean heritage at the @puertoricanartsalliance in Chicago! So happy I got to see this exhibit at the Getty before leaving LA. Exhausted & jet lagged but had to see this gorgeous piece of HISTORY 💛 by @qurissy
