I love you endlessly Dad. I loved you then, I love you now, I’ll love you always. My dad died yesterday. He was the coolest and funniest person I’ve ever known. He was proud of me in ways you wouldn’t believe. He came to hundreds of my shows and events over the years and he always treated them like I was playing much bigger venues when a lot of the time they were tiny. I’ve gone from being sectioned with this illness to raising money for it. What a badass. Just ran a 5k for @bipolar_scotland for @lochnessmarathon

I recently got back into running so thought I’d start small. My days of being extreme are over.

There’s still time to donate. Link in bio and story. Would mean the world.

Hannah Murray said something great about bipolar she was like people care about mental illness until it’s bipolar. Like it’s socially acceptable to have anxiety and depression but not to have a psychotic break at an international airport. All mentally ill people deserve help.

There’s so many illnesses that deserve their day in the Sun. For people to understand them and empathize with them. Bipolar is still to have its day.

I grew up on films like Girl, Interupted and Fight Club and I knew I was also mentally ill. I just didn’t have a name for it back then.

Bipolar disorder is like experiencing heaven AND hell on Earth and I want to help change the world. 💜

One year gone. But you’re not really gone are you Dad? Now you live in my heart and in my dreams. I know you’d be so proud of me coz you always were. Here’s some stuff I’ve done. All for you.

1. Started working at British Heart Foundation in your honour
2. Got a great job for a Hollywood production company
3. Quit smoking (I know you adored smoking and loved me being your wee smoking buddy but you’d still be proud haha)
4. Started writing again
5. Started running again
6. Came off the medication I hated
7. Met a nice and normal man (who you could talk to for hours.)
8. Did a study to help people with Bipolar Disorder

8 was your birthday so I’ll stop there.

I found a note the other day you wrote and it sums up how I feel about you very well.

‘I love you at the start…at the finish…and everything inbetween.’

It was my birthday yesterday! Only arseholes make you guess their age. I turned 39 which is sandwiched between my favourite number (38) and a big milestone (40) Got some lovely gifts which included Valentino perfume, taken to a Titanic play at the fringe and a picnic basket from Harrods. I dragged my boyfriend on stage, went for a couples massage and bought myself a gift from Ann Summers. Oh and ate steak and cake with buttercream icing. I hope you enjoy my kinda chic list. I was getting such love for this story I decided to upgrade it to a post! I was at The Beatrix Potter Museum in Dunkeld. ‘Get in the hut bitch!’ This is a joke I do not care to explain. I was on my way to meet my handsome bf to go camping. Yes camping. First time since I was 17. I loved it. Anything js fun with someone you love. Also my face in this pic. Wow. Can I call myself a Bonnie babe? I may have a little fat on my face but I think that’s part of why I look young! Would I be as Bonnie if it was a lot more boney? We may find out, we may not. What a difference a year can make. This was last Father’s Day. Dad was very happy with his Squid Game aftershave. I’ve still yet to meet anyone else who loves Squid Game as much as me and Dad. Dad liked weird and dark stuff so much and definitely passed that on to me. Thanks for getting me into Stephen King. Thanks for coming to see Saw 10 with me. Thanks for being the happiest person I’ve ever been around. I love your expression in this picture Dad. Thanks for giving me the ability to move my own face in a million different ways. Thanks for being my dad for 38 years. Today will always be a hard day for me and many others but I’m still grateful I get to call you Dad. Love you forever. 💜 by @r_jacz

I bought this book yesterday and finished it today. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. 358 pages. I was halfway through a book when my Dad died and I haven’t been able to pick one up since. If you’re bipolar, bisexual, an actor or been sectioned (in my case all 4!) or if you just love an amazing story…you will adore this book. I wish I could connect with Hannah Murray and let her know just how much it meant to me. So in case you ever see this Hannah, I love you 💜 #hannahmurray #themakebelieve by @r_jacz
