Writing one book apparently wasn’t stressful enough, so naturally you decided to write three… or four… or seven🙂‍↕️ And suddenly the side character you mentioned twice in Book One needs a backstory, somebody’s eye colour has mysteriously changed, a plot point from 200 pages ago has come back to haunt you and you’ve realised the conflict you wrapped up beautifully in Book One was… supposed to last the entire series. Love that 🫶🏽 As someone who has spent an unreasonable amount of time living inside fictional worlds of my own making, I’ve learnt that writing a series isn’t just about having more story to tell. You need enough story to sustain it. So I put together 5 of the things I think every writer should consider when building a book series. From your setting and characters to conflict, defining events and the continuity details that WILL come back to humble you three books later. Consider this your friendly reminder to keep receipts on your own fictional universe 😭✍🏽 Save this for when your series starts fighting back and you can find the full writer’s tip sheet over on my Ko-fi shop 🤎 Happy writing, and may your plot holes be tiny! #writershelp #writingcommunity #writeeveryday #writingtips #writingaseries by @raathi07
Do you decorate your bookshelves or keep them simple and minimalistic? 😁 I’ve tried in the past but having bookish items around the books makes for great content and a good reminder to use what I have instead of buying unnecessarily! #bookshelfies #booktokaustralia #paperbackcollector #bookmerchlove by @raathi07
