Our first Qur’an gathering but definitely not our last.

There was something special about gathering around the Qur’an together. One reciter at a time, we could feel the blessings filling the room.

We had 11 beautiful reciters, each with their own unique voice and style, and it was such a joy to witness women coming together through the words of Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The Qur’an is a proof for you or against you.”
— Sahih Muslim

May the Qur’an always be a proof for us. May it be a source of guidance, healing and light, and may Allah make us people who live by it, return to it and gather around it again and again.

A women’s gathering to listen to the Qur’an together, with live female reciters.

Recite with us. Or come, sit and listen.
No Qur’an reading ability required.

We’ll begin by setting our intention, spend most of the gathering reciting with &/or listening to Qur’an recitation and close with a short reflection and Maghrib prayer in jama‘ah

For this gathering, our reciters will be reading from Surah Al-Baqarah inshallah.

Bring the heaviness of this world with you and let the Qur’an mend your heart

When hearts gather in love, something beautiful happens.

Last night, we came together to celebrate Rabiʿ al-Awwal and remember our beloved Messenger ﷺ through salawat, song, and remembrance.

Rabiʿ al-Awwal is more than a month we remember him ﷺ. It is an invitation to ask: How much of his light have we allowed into our lives?

May Allah make us among those who love him ﷺ, know him ﷺ, follow him ﷺ, and are gathered with him ﷺ in the Hereafter. by @rabata.au

✨ Alhamdulillah some wonderful news! ✨

Rabata Australia is officially an ACNC-registered charity and is now endorsed by the ATO as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)! 🎉

This is an exciting milestone for our growing organisation and the work we are building together to create compassionate, faith-informed spaces that support, connect and uplift women and girls across Australia.

Do you know why Rabi al-Awwal is so special?

It's the 3rd month of the Islamic calendar and one of the most meaningful.

Its name means "the first spring" a season of renewal, reflection, and light.

Here's some of the reasons it holds such a special place in Islamic history:

✨ The birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ born in Makkah, most scholars point to the 12th of this month.

✨ The completion of the Hijrah in this month. He left Makkah at the end of Safar, and arrived in Quba, near Madinah, on the 8th of Rabi al-Awwal completing the migration that reshaped Islamic history.

✨ Masjid Quba the first mosque ever built in Islam, was established by the Prophet ﷺ right after his arrival in Rabi al- Awwal.

✨ His passing on the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal, 11 years after the Hijrah, is a reminder of how fleeting this world is, and how much his teachings still guide us.

This month is an invitation to reflect, remember his character, and give back.

A few ways we can make the most of this month:
🤍 Send salawat (peace and blessings) on the Prophet ﷺ daily
📖 Read his Sirah (biography)
🕌 Fast on Mondays and Thursdays, following his sunnah
🤲 Give sadaqah, even something small (Rabata Aus is now a charity org accepting donations)
💬 Share one hadith or lesson with a family member or friend.
