I love classics but I’m not sure if I’m ready to watch these adapted into movies and series.

I read The Bell Jar quite a while ago and I still remember it was one of the darkest books I have ever read. What made it even morbid was when I later found out about Slyvia Plath’s tragedy in real life. The filming of movie is underway starring Billie Eilish and I can’t wait to see if Esther Greenwood character is justified.

What a beautiful memoir by @belleburden
I found her voice natural and honest, despite the popular opinion that regard her as entitled and privileged.
It’s hard to put down and a must read for every woman!
Ospreys update on Belle’s instagram stories is such a delight.

Now that’s a binge worthy read—Washington Black by Esi Edugyan.

The story of a black slave boy working on Barbados sugarcane fields in 1830, started with scenes of horrendous violence on black workers by their white master. But the life of 11-years-old Washington Black takes a turn when he started working as a manservant to Titch, brother of his white master, and from there he discovers the wonders of science, his knack for drawing, and most of all a sanctuary from miseries which was common in the era of black slavery.
The plot is very gripping, at times heartbreaking, the tragic journey of Washington from Barbados to North America, London and then Morocco, keeps one hooked till the last page. Although I felt it ends on a low-note, a bit abrupt, but still I loved reading this book.
