There are special, rare moments in life where we get to be around individuals who truly embody what it means to be LIMITLESS. Meet Calvin Smith! Age 9 was a pivotal age for Cal. That was when he picked up mountain biking — it was also when he learned he had brain cancer.

After eight years of treatments, the cancer that is classified as a PXA (anaplastic pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma), has become inoperable, paralyzing the right side of now-17-year-old Calvin's body.

On Wednesday May 28th friends, family and complete strangers rallyed around the teen to make sure he can stay on the trails by raising funds to buy an adaptive mountain bike. Skyridge High School mountain bike coach Jason Taylor, who has been coaching Calvin for the past six years, described the Calvin as an "incredible athlete."

Calvin, who has had five surgeries since his diagnosis, with several rounds of radiation and constant chemotherapy, acknowledged it has been very hard to train and compete, but mountain biking is something that has brought him so much joy. He went on to describe what it was like to endure cancer treatments through the years, as each one brought both fear and hope.

A recent setback has been an inoperable tumor. It has caused Calvin's entire right side of his body to be paralyzed. His family has said watching the him endure this has been difficult, adding that he and members of his team and local mountain bike community have wanted to step in to help.

His family, coaches and friends have created what they are calling #TEAMCAL, a website dedicated to raising funds to purchase an adaptive bike for Calvin.

To participate or to donate, go to teamcal.org. A GoFundMe* campaign has been set up to help fund the bike. #givingback #dogood #makingadifference #instagood by @racefly

One of the questions I get asked all the time is "What happens if the helicopter engine suddenly quits?" The answer surprises most people. Here is me doing a maneuver called an autorotation and it's one of the most important emergency procedures every helicopter pilot trains extensively to perform. Contrary to what most people think, an engine failure does not mean the helicopter simply falls out of the sky. As a helicopter descends, air flowing upward through the rotor system, keeps the blades spinning at high speed, even with the engine completely shut down. In fact, the rotor can spin so efficiently that the pilot often has to prevent it from over speeding during the descent. The pilot is essentially storing energy in those spinning blades. Then before touchdown the pilot raises the collective converting that stored rotational energy back into lift( pushing the air downward again). The rotor creates one final cushion of air, slowing the descent enough to make a controlled landing. When done correctly, the autorotation can result in landing with no damage to the aircraft and no injuries to the occupants. This is one of the most remarkable demonstrations of both helicopter engineering and pilot training and one that every helicopter pilot practices until it becomes second nature.#heli #autorotation by @racefly

There’s nothing better than seeing a vehicle leave the shop looking its best and heading back with its owner.

Thank you for the trust, the support, and the opportunity to be part of the process.

Every kind of terrain is available with 30 minutes of my airport in Utah. 11,000 foot mountains with snow on the top, to sweeping desert dunes, to Grand Canyon like valleys to seemingly vast oceans of salt waters from the Great Salt Lake. #utah #utahisrad by @racefly
