I will almost certainly regret this day (I already do). The GT2RS departed today, but on the bright side I feel privileged to have experienced the pinnacle of what the Porsche GT team can do when unleashed. It was referred to internally by @ap_andypreuninger and his team as ‘King Kong’ and as a ‘Widowmaker’ by the motoring press. It is an absolute tour de force of engineering and a unique experience to drive on the road and track. The acceleration is simply brutal and unrelenting, however the way it lays down its power is quite linear and predictable; not as scary as the ‘Widowmaker’ moniker would have you believe. The ride is stiff, the exhaust is unbelievably loud for a stock exhaust and like every GT Porsche, the car communicates with you in so many satisfying ways to provide a rich driving experience. I never thought I would have the opportunity to own one of these and I’m grateful. It’s a sad day for me but it’s ’new car day’ for someone else, which is really cool.
