4⭐️! This is the first installment in the Hallowed Heretic series, a dark romantasy with a mom protagonist, characters over thirty, female rage, and a true slow-burn romance. I received an ARC of A Lie so Pretty and Poisonous, and I’m so glad I did! This is a quick read - it gives you just enough lore and world building to understand the story and the stakes, but not enough to bog you down and force you to take notes while reading. I FLEW through this book. As a mom myself, I really related to the main character and the position she finds herself in, being forced to make decisions based on what’s best for her daughter but not necessarily herself. And if you’re a fan of slow burn and yearning, this is IT. I could FEEL the tension through the pages. And the ending? Almost makes me wish I hadn’t read it so I don’t have to wait for the next book! AVAILABLE TO BUY/DATE: Pre-orders are open now! Head to https://leahbronwyn.com/ and @theravensheartbookstore to order your signed copy today! “A Lie so Pretty and Poisonous” will be released on September 12th, 2026 and will be available on Amazon, Kindle Unlimited, @authorleahbronwyn’s website, and @theravensheartbookstore! 🏷️ Characters over thirty | Mom protagonist | Weaponized religion | Demigods vs. Humans | Trauma/survival | Forbidden love | Classism | Female rage | Yearning | Single POV | Morally grey MMC | Nobody is who you think they are | True slow-burn | One horse | Forced Proximity #LeahBronwynARCteam #RattleTheStarsPR #IndieAuthor #Romantasy #HallowedHeretic by @rachel_the_reader85
