9 years ago, 20yo rachel embarked on a month long trip to yunnan, china with her trusty canon 700d. i wasn't exposed/drawn to documentary photography back then (i preferred editorial) so i didn't really feel the need to post these anywhere. here i am reminiscing these photos again 9 years later and i'm genuinely shocked that i took some of them.

here are some of my favourite shots from my time in fugong back in 2017, most of them are of the lisu kids at play which i find so endearing :'))) taken in Yunnan, China by @rachelchoosc

and today, (only because we haven't alr done so) we wanted to celebrate our grooms !!

for the longest time, we wondered what if grooms also had their little centre stage moments and this just made so much sense to do up

presenting to you : the grooms in the morning, and in the grooms in the evening, alongside their groomsmen, and by their bride, sometimes being goofy, and in other times crying. and i guess... this is how we see a version of a wedding day when the grooms share centre stage 🫡

that other day, i asked the team what we should do compilations of and @markashi immediately said hands, a compilation of hands and what they mean and how they feel.

and then i spend the next hour on this and oh boy ... was it a ride ...

okay, so this wedding was really one of the most UNboring weddings we have shot for and its crazy. think drag queen n king performances, pink veils, bride in a suit... and we thought WHAT IF we just featured the boring scenes that we remembered fondly 🔅

recently!! rach and i went on a photo session with katie and hervy and tbh it made us rethink the whole idea of photographing a loved one, almost as if its a way of showing love in different format

our afternoon started simply, by the coast with olaf

and naturally, we joked about how the session became a photoshoot for olaf (he was so so handsome), it always does

although we didn't mind it at all... 🥹

but as the night slowly transitioned into an evening by the river

we noticed how photography became almost like a small way of how they noticed each other and the things around them

and somehow, as if its another form of conversing or sharing time

our evening went by so quietly and as if there wasnt a third person involved in the session

and yea.. maybe the act of photographing a loved one is just another form of love and showing love

and in holding memory of that individual dear to your heart, that is beautiful and ample in and of itself ❤️ thank uuu both!!

sometimes, when the photographs make us feel all sorts, it almost as if we can visibly agree that the couple is meant for each other 🥹 todays' story is about finding your person and no matter the season, that real emotion with your singular person is more than enough !!

and honestly, thank you both for getting us right back into our stories. it been a real real pleasure ❤️ and we rly needed the push this season
