One of my greatest joys in life is showing my nephews how to look through a viewfinder to see what the picture is going to look like once we press that glorious shutter button. With the age of cell phone cameras, they are always super curious and dumbfounded at the same time that it doesn’t sit on a screen afterwards unless you turn that screen on. Explaining film is a even more exciting! Here’s to keeping that conversation going and keeping film alive. Also, full disclosure, this photo is me shooting on an A7s ii, which is not a film camera, but keeps me on my toes nonetheless.

Part two of an ad-campaign for The American Battlefield Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving America's hallowed battlefields.

It's peaceful here. Quiet. But it wasn't always. Here the past isn't confined to textbooks or museums. It's in the soil. A pulse within the earth. Here we walk in step with history where others once marched towards the unknown. The land never forgets the stride of the weary or the reach of the hopeful. The past is never really behind us. It's here, under our feet.

With Daniel directing, @christiegraceo and @segengenesis sharing the scenes, I knew I’d be in more than capable hands to try to some things I’d never done on camera before. @chriswilhoite you were fantastically terrifying, @will_hollerung I adored working off of you, and @robertasetzu you’re the most beautiful producer in the land. Thanks to brave and ambitious team of pros, we made a Lifetime film literally almost in our own backyard (well, neighborhood). It was such a gift to be working on a feature in Atlanta and be able to come home to my family at the end of the day. Harbour even walked me to work a couple of times, memories that now live in such a special place in my heart.

What a thing to make movies with your friends. To get thrown around, to play dress up, to get actually dirty, to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all - my job is so weird and so freaking great. Growing in stunts with @ryan.mono and going all in made for a wild ride. Thanks again to everyone and I’m so sorry I couldn’t name you all!!

Today we release to you all our most recent film, “Into the Harvest: A Story of Loving Decisions”, a collaboration with Gordon Ministries located in Shizuoka, Japan. This one hit us deep, and it won’t take you long to see why.

For over forty years, Ricky and Sarah Gordon have dedicated their lives to serving and helping find loving, permanent homes for Japan’s displaced or disabled children. This is the story that shares how their work came to be and demonstrates the scriptural call of “setting the lonely in families”, reminding us that the ultimate healing for a displaced child is the gift of a permanent home.

Working on this project and telling their story gave us a unique opportunity to peek behind the curtain and truly immerse ourselves in the work the Gordons do on a daily basis - the work most people never see. We are grateful they let us in and trusted in us to tell their story, a gift we don’t take lightly.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their story and to our entire team of donors and creatives who made this possible. We cherish you.

Link to watch the film in our bio.
