I like myself so much more lately 🥲

Not to say this realization doesn’t come after a ruthless amount of tears, confusion, anger - a whole lot of anger, but ultimately - forgiveness. The world for being so seemingly difficult at times. Others for trying their best.

Myself for not knowing better.

Myself, because I’m sick of the self hatred.

Did I become perfect overnight? Depending on the time of day I may say yes 🤣 but in all seriousness - no, nothing changed except my mindset.

I stopped carrying my luggage everywhere. I met my pain, sat with it, embraced it, and I. let. it. go.

I feel lighter, freer, simpler. I feel more aligned in my drum march.

All this to say, life doesn’t simply become perfect (though I am now exploring this whole alchemy thing, but one thing at a time, folks), but a stronger, steadier mindset has helped to make it all the more manageable, and dare I say it - lovely.

Play the tape through. Be your own warrior. Choose the handle to carry the situation with, otherwise you’re simply prolonging your misery.

I used to dreeeadddd Sunday to the point it would begin to affect me even earlier than the day itself. Saturday night would come and I’d try to avoid going to sleep as long as possible just to push off Sunday a bit more.

Lately I’ve been trying to find ways to make my life not suck, and me not think it does either. Sundays came up as a project of some sorts to convince my brain it was actually my new favorite day (besides Thursday, that’s the 🐐).
So I challenged myself. I’d start staying out way too late which made Monday a fun type of miserable. That phase thankfully didn’t last long, but the effects did. Something about dominating the day and not weakening to the idea of it made me feel more powerful, and more in control of my mental state surrounding an inevitable day of the week. Now Sunday is just another full day I have to myself, and I can use that to my advantage, not my defeat.

TL;DR Sundays stop sucking as soon as you decide they don’t.
