Today I had the honor of watching my best friend compete for the last time as a competitive swimmer.

While this isn’t the end of a friendship, it marks the end of a chapter that holds so many memories. Maddy and I have grown up alongside each other since we were 8 and 9 years old. Through every early morning, every long meet, and many hotel rooms she has never failed to stand alongside me. Maddy was the person that become more than a teammate, she became a sister. She has made an impact beyond just me, but through everyone who has had the privilege of growing up alongside her. Anyone who is lucky enough to know her knows how special she truly is.

To my best friend,

Thank you for everything. You were always there for the ups and the downs, encouraging me, and pushing me to always be my best. You make me want to become a better person every single day. Your hard work and dedication inspires me. I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished both in and out of the pool. As you enter your next chapter I know you will do incredible things. I can’t wait to watch you in this next step of your life. Your future is so bright.

I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Texas A&M!!

I am incredibly grateful for my family and friends who have supported me throughout this journey. Thank you to Coach Blaire, Coach Allyson, Coach Wes, and the entire coaching staff at A&M for giving me this incredible opportunity.

Thank you to Coach Kyle, Brooke, Matt, and Paula for all of your guidance, support, and everything you have done to help me get to this point. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you!

And most importantly, thank you to my parents for always being my biggest supporters, believing in me, and encouraging me every step of the way. I truly wouldn’t be here without you guys!
