I am elated to announce my induction into the Académie des Arts Sciences Lettres de Paris.

I received the Vermeil medal (gilded silver) in the Painting & Drawing category. I am profoundly touched by this recognition of artistic achievement amongst many talented and celebrated peers.

In addition, I am deeply honored to accept the position of North American Delegate for EthnicArt, a French organization created by artists to support artists from every corner of the globe.

My passion for creation is equally matched by the importance I place on facilitating the creative expression of those around me. I look forward to working closely with Dany, an excellent example of an empowered feminine leader in the arts.

Lastly, looking forward to showing a new body of work in February 2026 at GaGallery in SE Portland. I can’t wait to discover how this pivotal moment impacts my painting!

Rachel Rusenko’s old world ritual chants, accompanied by devotional harmonium, bowed lyra, and ambient percussion, will guide us on a journey through the Underworld into the Heavens.

Inspired by Carl Jung’s Wounded Healer archetype, this transformative passage into liminal space embraces Grief as our greatest teacher, to be felt, integrated, and purified via ethereal catharsis.

Join us on the River Deck 🌊 where we will receive this ritual concert offering and move through grief together.

@rusenkomusic is a classically trained vocalist and intuitive multi-instrumentalist. Based in Portland, OR, they were born in Paris, France, and raised in Casablanca, Morocco until the age of 16. Their music is a melding of old world instrumentation, rich with ancient tradition, juxtaposed against modern technology, including effects pedals and a 4 track looping station. Instrumentation includes the harmonium, bowed lyra, frame drum, bells, moss chimes, and various textural layers.

I am beyond excited to break out of live painting hiatus for this momentous and meaningful gathering! 🕯️✨

The community that puts on @lunasa_cascadia and runs @azothspace has become more of a family than anything I’ve ever known. These are my very favorite people in the universe, and I can’t wait to spend five quality days with all of them, by the lake, under the mossy trees, circling the nightly bonfire.
