Apparently it’s black dog appreciation day?? May I present in no particular order, Leaf, Murphy, Achillles, Sumi, Margot, Gertie, and Joni!!!!!!!!!! Adopt these precious babies and enjoy some kisses! And if you wear black clothing their fur doesn’t show too much, but actually having fur on your clothes is the best thing in the world so get a tri colored doggy so the fur always shows. Sister sent me a bunch of photos from her old computer. We were little tiny babies here. I think I was still in college? Bunny was the best bunny ever. He lived in the yard and we loved him and he loved us. So glad we have this photo of him. Bunnies love apples and apple leaves and apple bark and our mom let an apple tree she HATED grow for his whole life so he could enjoy it. I brought a whole ass giant branch to a friend at work who also had a pet bunny. 🐰are weird but cool pets. by @rachygr8

Apparently on this day in 2019 we filmed a #subaru and #aspca commercial to encourage doggy adoption at SPCALA adoption center! Can’t find the call sheet so I don’t know who to tag!!! And it was a lifetime ago. But if you’re here lmk and I’ll tag you hahahahaaha. What are the odds??? Anyhoo that doggy in the last slide still has my heart and I wonder where he is today. Adopt don’t shop and let’s all be good to animals, ya? Ya.

Christina and I met in 6th grade, and then were lucky enough to have choir, math, PE, and more choir together every day all the way through high school graduation. I love her very much and hate that she has had to suffer with this awful disease. On her fundraiser page, her wonderful husband and best friend Joe put it like this:

“In 2016, my best friend and partner of 22 years, Christina, was diagnosed with a grade 3 brain tumor. In 2019, it returned but degraded to a grade 4 glioblastoma (GBM). The average 5 year life expectancy with a GBM is only 5%. It’s now 2026, 10 years on from her first brain tumor and it’s hard to imagine where the time has gone. With the critically low life expectancy for high grade brain tumors, we never thought we’d be here…together. But we are so thankful for every minute and hopeful of many more.

Please join me in fighting this terrible disease. More effective treatments are needed for brain tumor patients. Donations made to the National Brain Tumor Society help fund research, contributing to new studies and trials each year. That’s why we are ardent supporters of the NBTS.”

It’s been over a year and I still can’t really deal with it. You came into our lives over night, you needed a home and we needed you. We don’t deserve dogs and nothing can fix my broken heart. I guess I’m growing a new heart next to the old one, this time for leafy boy. Same bed same food bowl. But not the same boy. We miss Murphy every day. by @rachygr8
