What a day, what a moment 🏆 by @racingvictoria

Ethan Brown, take a bow 👑 by @racingvictoria

In March 2023, Ethan Brown was fighting for his life after a fall at Flemington.

On his road back to the saddle, Brown seriously considered walking away from riding altogether.

“I went over to Ciaron’s one day and said, ‘I don’t know if I want to come back riding, I might take up training’, and he said, ‘You’re delusional, what would you want to do that for?’”

Maher convinced him to get back in the saddle, and has been one of his biggest supporters ever since.

“He talked me back into riding, and from there, he’s only supported me. He’s given me plenty of good advice, and we’ve had a good ride.”

Three years later, they have reached the pinnacle of Australian racing, combining to win the Melbourne Cup with Point Of Law 🏆
