Yesterday me and my dawg Kendrick got together for some challenges just for fun 😂🙏🏿

I’ve realized again I genuinely don’t care much for competition anymore unless there’s a real opportunity to provide for my family.

For years I gave everything I had to sports, chasing opportunities that could bring financial security to those I love. Had the tangibles and intangibles, but the opportunity never materialized. That pursuit nearly consumed me and somewhere along the way I almost forgot how much I LOVE simply playing games, laughing, and building friendships.

I’ve always been a big kid at heart 😂 Never been much of a trash talker. I just love wholesome challenges and fellowship.

But God has also been showing me how much growing I still have to do

I can be intense and come across judgmental (I’m human) especially when something doesn’t align with my growing understanding of God’s Word. I’m quick to speak up, but I’ll also be the first to cry, repent, and grieve when I’m wrong.

I’m not always the easiest person to understand or get along with but I genuinely LOVE people.

Lately I’ve been studying what it means to walk by the Spirit, be filled with the Spirit, and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
One thing God has been challenging me on is that having biblical convictions doesn’t give me permission to make judgments Scripture hasn’t warranted so watch my speech.

Truth matters but so do gentleness, patience, humility, and love which I try to do based on where I’m at.

Not every disagreement requires my correction and not every moment needs to be so serious. Sometimes it’s okay to simply enjoy the people God has placed around you while being on guard.

I never want to become some miserable old fart who forgot how to laugh, play, and love people ✝️🙏🏿

Still growing, being sanctified and still learning to enjoy the simple things over the grand exposure I once coveted.

Grateful for brothers like Kendrick who remind me it’s okay to just be a kid again. ❤️‍🔥💪🏿 Thanks for hearing and honoring prayers Lord

Could you do this in less than 10 tries? by @racksfit

🎗️ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and this weekend our community showed up in a BIG way to support Bailey.

Over 30 members, friends, family, and community members came together at Racks for a workout with a purpose.

Together, we raised over $500 to be donated directly to Bailey’s GoFundMe….but more importantly, we showed what can happen when a community comes together to support one of its own.

Thank you to everyone who worked out, donated, shared, supported, and helped make Saturday something special.

This isn’t where the support ends. We look forward to continuing to stand behind Bailey and her family and finding more ways to make an impact.

And this brings me to something else Justin and I believe:

What actually makes somebody an athlete?

I don’t think being an athlete begins with having a jersey, playing professionally, or even competing in an organized sport.

At its simplest, an athlete is someone developing the physical ability to produce force, absorb force, coordinate movement, and adapt to different demands.

That’s capacity.
That’s biomechanics.
That’s synchronization.

And those qualities can be trained. Obviously, genetics, age, health, and physical limitations affect everybody differently. Not everyone is going to become an NFL player, run a 4.4, or jump 40 inches.
But athleticism doesn’t have to mean elite athleticism.

If Jesus has given you a capable body, there’s an opportunity to steward that body and develop the capacity He’s given you.

Scripture says, “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

So training doesn’t have to be about worshiping your physique or proving how athletic you are. It can actually become an act of stewardship.

Can I become stronger for…?
Can I move better…?
Can I become more coordinated..?
Can I build greater physical capacity so that this body is prepared to serve, work, play with my children, help somebody else, and do whatever God calls me to do?

You don’t need to be a professional athlete to train athletically.
You can simply take what God has entrusted to you and develop it faithfully.
Because the goal isn’t for everybody to become an elite athlete.

The goal is to faithfully steward whatever capacity God has given you.

S/O to my sis @_ayannag_ for volunteering to help us 🎥 (you really type nice with it 😂🙏🏿)
