Had a blast at @fanexpocanada 2026 chatting with so many indie comics heroes!

The funniest, most punk rock book I read all year has been THE FLORIDA HIPPOPOTAMUS COCAINE MASSACRE by local creators @fearless_fred and @james_edward_clark - these guys are a riot!

ASSORTED CRISIS EVENTS is one of the most brilliant, human, moving books I've read this decade (don't take my word for it, it won this year's Eisner for Best New Series!), and I so appreciated @ericxyzawadzki for taking the time to chat with me and offer advice.

Always great to catch up with fellow self-publishing pal @berg.jon and talk about building an indie book from the ground up.

There were plenty of other comics pals I didn't manage to photograph, from @thewordburglar to @theraidstudio to mainstream superstar (and still very much an indie inspiration) @real_psak - if you're an aspiring comics writer, his Substack (called "Day 2") is both required reading, and an endless source of inspiration.

Had a great experience visiting @wayside.comics this past weekend! Not only is this one of the best comic shops in the country, it's also one of the most indie-friendly.

Omar knows his stuff when it comes to comics. He added a couple copies of UPSIDE DOWN to sell in the shop, and I'm delighted to be on their spinner rack! by @rad.comix

Upside Down is now on Hoopla!!!

Hoopla is my favourite digital comics platform. It's free, it has pretty much everything, and by using it you support your local library system. What's not to love?!

I never thought I'd be able to get my indie book on there, but thanks to the fine folks at @aggregate.ink (check 'em out, fellow creators!) we're now live and ready to be enjoyed by readers all over Canada, the US, Australia, and New Zealand!

Happy 50th birthday to Toronto's Oldest Comic Book Shop, The Silver Snail! @silversnailto

I stopped by at opening this morning to spend a few bucks, and was delighted to see a line of people already there.

They've got a big sale going on all weekend, so if you're like me and haven't checked in with the Snail in a while, stop by and see if something catches your eye!

Had a great time at TCAF this year! I didn't make the cut to get a table this time, but fingers crossed for next year! @torontocomics!

Always love catching up with all my indie comics pals. I also attended the @dougwrightawards for the first time and had a blast! Plenty of laughs, good recommendations, and a renewed appreciation for OWL magazine! by @rad.comix

Just received this in the mail and I'm blown away: BLITZ Magazine by @raidpress issues #1 and #2!

This is a glossy, gorgeous, Treasury-sized *experience* of a magazine from the lunatics at @theraidstudio. It's devoted entirely to indie books and their creators (interviews, articles, and plenty of comics). It's the most premium-feeling magazine I've picked up in I don't know how long. And because they're mad scientists, RAID are giving it away for FREE (or $1 + shipping). This is destined to become my new comics bible.

When I first learned about the magazine from their Backerkit campaign over a year ago I reached out and asked to buy an ad, reasoning it would be the perfect audience for Upside Down. My artist @michaelbyers drew a gorgeous full-page illustration where we tried to convey the fun and imagination of our book. It's the first (and thus far only) ad I've put out for Upside Down, and I couldn't be happier to have that be in this magazine.

This mag is better than da bomb... it's da BLITZ!
